Another quick update:

Drilled a few more holes in this panel to add... ugh... toggle switches... Only 19 more to go...

WHOOPS...

Before receiving and casting the 100+ 3D printed rockers from Starkiller I had already created and adhered these larger rockers in place. I went ahead and used these rockers on both panels. This allows me some extra 3D rockers to place throughout the cockpit.

OK... back to work!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Also sprayed the first payer of paint on the grey rockers... EWE... I see one little guy that needs a little work...

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

Well... rain moved in and that halted my progress :( But I did get a few things done.

Almost finished the new lower instrument panel

You can see how much smaller the 3D printed rockers are compared to my wooden attempt :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Uhoh, Photobucket's not putting your photos up Sofaking, wants you to get additional bandwidth?

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Yup the pics are up now, excellent work.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

I tried installing the drawer pull and while it worked and was REALLY cool - it was too short... So... I have to figure out something else. Anybody have any ideas?

Perhaps you could use replacement sliding door components found at your local big-box store. Those doors tend to be heavy, so the replacement bits and pieces will be able to take the weight. You'll have to devise your own track, but with the ingenuity you've shown so far in this build, you should be able to do that over a cup of coffee!

Hey P,

I'm going to look at different size casters - that may require removing part of the bottom of the door (nothing a good power saw can't handle). I do like your idea. I'll definately look into that. I did wind up removing the two MDF back panels - they added too much weight to the door. I really wish I could get started on the canopy... :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica
