HFC only makes a non-blowback M712 - the hammer moves with the trigger (double action) but the bolt cannot move and doesn't cycle after firing. Any seller listing an HFC 196 as being blowback has made an error.

The hammer does retract with the trigger. Find a HFC H196. That is the correct model used in TFA.

Here's a little something I put together:
Started with one of the cheap 712s off eBay.Some of the proportions are off of course, but it was good practice.
What began as a quick weekend project, ended up taking 3 months of Sundays.
I didn't get the pocket above the trigger quite right:
Didn't bother with a working hammer or trigger, but I did manage to keep the mag removable:
Scratch building the grill took a several attempts to get it to look right.
I started by gluing some fender washers, and making a mold and a resin casting of it:
Then cut and shaped the casting to fit the mauser, and made another mold and resin castings:
Stacked/glued 3 castings together:
Then cut it to the final shape:

Wonderful. I'm also doing a build with a cheap airsoft but not nearly a awesome as yours. Congrats on your completion.

The first one I posted is interesting because it seems to be missing the safety and the small square tabs on the side of the gun. Also, the trigger doesn't look like it's from a HFC, although the mag does.
On the second one. part of me thinks that the hammer doesn't recoil like a functioning gun, but is maybe just stuck into place. The reason I say this is that in a lot of the Starkiller Behind the Scenes shots I saw of Harrison with the gun (where the tip is lighting up red) the hammer is always back as he's firing it. I think they made an electronic version with the hammer always back, and with a light up tip that is activated by pulling the trigger.
