I have TheRocketeer's WS helmet and it's absolutely fantastic. I also have his TFA helmet that he did a couple of years ago. His work, without a doubt, is excellent and well worth the price. I really want to get one of his Smithsonian helmets as well, but maybe after the financial hemorrhage of the holidays.
Another aluminum metal shield option is made by King Arts and are supposed to ship at the end of the year/beginning of next year. It's the same price as the Lager Toys one ($699 US plus shipping which is estimated at $80) but the back is more screen accurate looking. They have regular, stealth and battle damaged options. Their US distributor is bigbadtoys.com. If you go the King Arts website, you can find their distributors for Europe and Asia.

Carrying a metal shield around a con for a full day is definitely a drag (I did it last year). Another light weight option over the off-the-shelf plastic shield is an airsoft shield that you paint yourself -
Fly4v has an excellent thread describing his airsoft shield customization - it looks really amazing. And he has links where to buy one. I think this is going to be my next shield project.
