I wanted to share my first Ghostbusters prop. The venerable Ghost Trap. I'm hardly an expert on GB so I consulted the fine folks on that GB board. I build this off one of the plans I found there. It's completely scratch built by me: MDF and aluminum mostly. The knobs were purchased from a guy who casted duplicates of the exact knobs used on the screen-used trap. The various stickers are also exact reproductions. The electronics are all by me. I don't have the foot-actuated pedal used in the film (yet) so all the light effects are controlled via onboard switches. The powerful light on the inside is a huge bank of 82 surface-mount LEDs I soldered together. Add some paint, and bunch of weathering and this thing looks pretty good.
I kid you not, The DAY I started this build (my first GB build ever) Harold Ramis died ... I swear I feel a bit responsible.
