Your Favourite BTTF Film?

Very easily answered. I like the first best, because I thought it had excellent writing, witty humor, and wincing about the fifties is always fun.

I like the second one and the third one 2nd... but only barely below the first one. They just seem different somehow, like the innocence was lost, but it was required for them to be that way, with the second being more complex and the third being an interesting ride through the old west and seeing Doc Brown, the scientist, fall in love.

Now having the 3 in existance for so long, I find it hard to answer that question because I see the trilogy as one film. I can't really separate them in my mind :confused

I agree, you can rarey beat the original although the second one came close.
The third one i must say is my least favourite as i found the ending a little too far fetched. Needless to say i love the BTTF films and would love to show them to my children some day.
Kind regards Jason.

Agreed, its hard to see them as single films. :lol
Kind regards Jason.

The third is my least favorite but I agree that they really do seem like they should be edited into one giant movie as that's how they are when you think of them. Actually the new game is like that too, to me anyhow it fits in with the end of BTTF 3 as a 4th movie.

The first one because of what it was.

Tolerated the second one and HATED the third!

Looks like I'm going to be the only one to say this, but here I go.

I LOVE the first Back to the Future movie.
I HATE the second one.
I LOVE the third one.

Part II drains me every time I watch it. Most of it takes place at night, characters get murdered, a guy tells a kid to jump off a building at gun point, and a cliffhanger ending with Marty trapped in time. Pretty dark stuff even for me when I was a kid.

Back to the Future III was thankfully nothing like that. It had way better use of using Michael J. Fox twice in the same scene, less literal borrowing from the first film, more good writing in setting up fairly unpredictable events (Doc being shot during the dance and dying two days later i.e. the date on the gravestone) and a pretty epic conclusion (Far fetched? He's the Doc! Plus he had the hover board). Doc giving Marty the picture that was taken of them next to the clock always brings a smile to my face.

And DON'T FORGET! We have the Back to the Future games now. A series so awesome that it's story completely re-wrote the space time continuum and reverted Jennifer back to her original self! Epic!

I saw the BTTF movies much later in my life, saw them in 1997 when I was about 16 years old.

The original Part I is the indeed the better movie, perfect screenplay with so many payoffs throughout the film, strong and memorable characters, fantastic musical score, overall great blend of comedy, sci-fi and drama.

But my personal favourite is Part II. After watching BTTF, I became a BTTF fan; but after watching BTTF 2, I became the obsessed BTTF fan.

Watching those Part I scenes from a different perspective in Part II was one of the most unique things I had ever seen, it just blew me away. All the cool 2015 stuff in the first half and the whole adventure of retrieving the Almanac in the second half are some of my favourite scenes from Part II. Also the flying DeLorean became more awesome than it was before.

Part III is equally charming with a new side to Doc's character. We really to get see the growth and chemistry of Doc and Marty flourish in this movie. Also it's a great conclusion to the trilogy, ending on a high note.

And though the first movie can stand on its own, it is more pleasing to consider the BTTF trilogy as a singular story, very few trilogies make you feel that way.

Very well put Vivek :) My favorite is the second one as i enjoy the story line, and the props in it.
Kind regards Jason.

I like all three as one movie, but part 2 is my favorite. Even though 2015 was supposed to be a joke and they were there for about an hour, I still love the future scene! Air Mags, Pepsi Perfect, Cafe 80's, the self adjusting & self drying jacket, holographic Jaws, too much to list! Fav is part 2 ;-) but love em all. Always use at least one quote from bttf trilogy every single day, at LEAST one quote haha

I and II are very close in my book. As a kid, number II was always my fav because I thought the scenes in the future were awesome...and I was obsessed with the hoverboards! Now 28, I enjoy the first one the most as it really had the better story :)

The first Back to the Future is the best but part 2 is my favorite, I just love all the props :cool

The first one is almost a perfect movie - in fact, I'd say it IS perfect. The second one was a mess. The only thing I liked about it was some of the designs in the future, but other than that they really dropped the ball on everything the movie could have been. Adding in the whole "Chicken" thing was nothing more than a desperate attempt to give Marty's character some sort or sloppy story arc when he didn't really need it.

The first one was my favorite. I liked 2 and 3, but I don't see how anyone can say the latter two beat the first, as the first one had a complete story from beginning to end and left you wanting more, while 2 and 3 piggybacked off the first's success.
