Halloween 2024! What are your must watch scary movies?

Its almost Halloween and every October I binge scary movies. I have my favorites, including some classic horror\sci-fi, and some newer stuff as well. Here are my top 10, and I'll include a new movie that I just discovered:

1. The Thing (I love both the original and the remake - both are classics in their own rights IMO)
2. War of the Worlds (original)
3. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (original, but the remake is good too)
4. Halloween (the original of course, and the recent 2018 sequel of the same name)
5. Dog Soldiers
6. Fright Night (the original)
7. Evil Dead series (Evil Dead through Army of Darkness)
8. Trick 'r Treat
9. Predator (the original)
10. When Evil Lurks (from 2023 so the newest addition to the rotation)

What are your favorite movies to watch around Halloween?

Here's my top 10 I usually revisit this time of the year. I'm not really into jump scare flicks, but the films that get under your skin or make you use your imagination.

1 - The Exorcist (1973)
2 - The Entity (1982)
3 - An American Werewolf in London (1981)
4 - Alien (1979)
5 - Poltergeist (1982)
6 - The Changeling (1980)
7 - John Carpenter - The Fog (1980)
8 - John Carpenter - The Thing (1982)
9 - Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
10 - Prophecy (1979)

I’d post my list, but with the exception of a couple it would pretty much mirror yours.

A Nightmare on Elm ST 1,2,3
BeetleJuice
A Nightmare Before Christmas
Sleepy Hallow
Ernest Scared Stupid
Scary Movie
Evil Dead
Ash vs Evil Dead

I never was big on horror movies growing up.
But, I do like Ghostbusters, which is the mix of Comedy, SciFi and at least considered a touch of horror.
So I actually just watched Frozen Empire for the first time. It was fun and alright, but, like most sequels, nothing can ever outdo the original.
Also love the original Robocop. Probably also not typical horror, but I'd say it has at least some elements of horror in it.
