Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 1963-present keys)

I just got the same message. We'll see what you end up getting tomorrow and if they look good then I have to hope for the best. if you don't get keys...

Went by Ace Hardware and they had nothing. The closest they had was an Ilco Y2. They didn't even have a chain or D thing for a Rose key. :(

Yeah you'll have to do most of your hunting online. There's a contact on page 3 or 4 for the ERA keys & somewhere in the thread an eBay link for the D-shackles. eBay's a good place for current YALEs too.

After all the info I have found by stumbling upon this thread, I felt the need to hop on here and say thanks. This thread has been awesome, so much info...

Sadly though I am having no luck finding those Silca YA/1E keys which are the ones I'd really like to acquire for my replica since Blink is very high on my favorite episodes list.

As an alternative, are the ERA keys like Eccleston used easier to find? The link I found on page 3 or 4 was dead, maybe I overlooked the correct one you were talking about TimeyWhimy?

I'm wanting to go unsanded, so that is why I prefer those two keys since the JMA or Yale would need to be sanded/modified if I am thinking correctly after just taking in all this info. :cheers

The form for inquiry of the ERA keys it the 1st post of page 4.

I found the Silca key on eBay so maybe search for "TARDIS key" there.

Re: Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 2005-present keys)

Still awaiting the mail run today so let's go back on Sally Sparrow's key
I went to the craft shop last night & found some hemp cord for my JMA & Silca variants..

Looking at them closer you see the Silca being just a tad more oval than the JMA which is perfecty circled.

Still hard to say which one it was exactly

Judging based on these pics, it's clearly the JMA to my eye.

The key in the last Sally picture is actually an ERA. It has the same profile as the side of the key shown is the same side that the Silca has a logo on.

That said when my friend picked up the Mister Minits key for me as a Silca close enough it seems to be the same as your Silca in body shape. Not perfectly round but not completely oval.

As for the keys you got, I am still hoping that the seller may have a stock of these keys and that I end up with similar styles if nothing else.

I would still love to know what magical camera or source of light makes these keys look silver & not brass..

No, those are the same keys alright. Same discolorations and all. The lighting it a hard one. There seems to always be a slight brassy tone to their keys even when they're more silvery in color. If you decide you don't want them though I'll buy them from you, lol.

re my blink key
Yeah, I have to say, I don't know how I missed that post either but that is an amazing find. Any idea where you got it from?
sorry for the delay
its a key to my back doors patio sliding glass doors no branding on the lock either will have look if theres any markings further in the lock.

Personally if my keys come in as the same style, brass or not, I don't care. Like Straker said Yales tend to have a brass tone no matter what. So I'll be happy they for the profile look and the Yale brand. But we'll see what I end up with some point this week as the seller is in my back yard.

Still feel bad for ya.

So what is the official word on the keys?

JMA for a 10th Doctor and an older yale for a 5th Doctor?

for the JMA it is sanded down?
Older yale...?

Thanks guys!

So the etsy seller canceled my order and refunded me. So these were seemingly the only four keys she had then. Damn. Back to the drawing board.

Alrighty.. so after the cleanup the single shoulder YALEs I found do lighten up considerably & they do almost appear silverish in the right light.. I couldn't get a real clear shot under natural light with my crappy cell phone.
