Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 1963-present keys)

Re: Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 2005-present keys)

Well, like I said, they will always have a touch of brassy color to them. Even my old Yale in the first post has a yellowish tinge to it, just not as much as the more recent keys.

Yessir! The table sander I had used had a vertical sanding wheel, so just took a pair of clamp grips & went to town. The lighting on the pic is kinda low, they do need some touching up (kinda unevenish around the edges), but going to scavenge for all the perception filter parts this month. Probably eBay for the sim cards & radio shack for the other stuff.

Your 2nd one's looking good! (the one w/the blue transistor)

If you still need sim cards, just let me know. I've got a ton of them that I wouldn't mind sharing with people who are making perception filter keys.

Wow. . . so apparently my front door key is a prop replica now?! :D This thread is awesome.

Thanks for the offer, I found a lot on eBay that was cheap enough.

I might be interested. Can you post some close up pictures of the cards? The styles of the pads are mostly what I need to see and also if they are used or not. I try to not use SIM cards that have been used because they usually wind up with unsightly dimples from the contacts in the phone.

Yup. If you have YALE and ERA type keys in a five pin setup that match what we've been talking about you have a modern Tardis key XD

Re: Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 2005-present keys)

Woot Woot!

I love it when you find out something you already owned is a replica, but to find out it's as important a prop as the TARDIS key? omgnowords.

OK guys, I have something for you. I want to stress that I don't alter the color on these pics OK, this is a raw image:

As you can see the keys are placed next to an ERA key and as you can see, the vintage Yale that I got from Timey Whimey is only a shade more yellow than the other two Yales there. Also I added my custom blanked 11th Doctor Yale. Like I said, sometimes they just look darker due to lighting. This lighting is as stark and white as I can get and they still look mostly silver-ish in color.

Re: Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 2005-present keys)

Can someone post a link for the Era key?

Re: Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 2005-present keys)

Mine came with the door, so I can't really help, sorry!

Re: Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 2005-present keys)

I believe this is smith's key because the ridge thing fits the lock in the vampires of Venice shot. It could be just me though:)
Key blank, F/Yale

Re: Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 2005-present keys)

it really is just a pain in the arse to get these things sometimes

Re: Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 2005-present keys)

I know it sucks but Im just looking at the key not getting it right now...

Re: Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 2005-present keys)

Can someone post a link for the Era key?

There's a wealth of info in this thread as what key goes with what companion. As for the ERA keys best bet would probably be eBay.

Just fyi though you want 5 pin keys, that link you posted looked to 6 & 7 pin.

Re: Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 2005-present keys)

Guys, for ERA keys there are sellers that have the actual door lock and they come with three precut keys for like $30 shipped to the USA. Just check ebay and do a "worldwide" search. Many sellers that sell the locks will also have blanks in stock. Just check with them and ask if they have any 5 pin ERA stamped blanks.

Re: Yale and ERA Tardis Key Research (Info for the 2005-present keys)

that key right there....
roughly $2 per key
shipping for just one key..... $41

you have got to be kidding me

BTW, that shipping quote isn't for one key, it's for one BOX of blanks.
