One more for size comparison
There are a few other Kits that contribute to the components on the Y-wing back-end. I don't know most of them but one additional culprit is from the
Tamiya 1/35 Panzerkampfwagen III (or so I believe)

The proper kit is a Nichimo tank.

Sorry for the mis-information I was comparing kit parts a MR Y-wing; I should have double checked it against picture ILM originals
I certainly don't profess to be a Y-wing expert.
Can you post a pic? of the Nichimo Tank kit box. What is it's scale?
Is it possible the Nichimo kit is from the same dies? sometimes the masters/and dyes have been exchanged between differently model manufacturers. (ie: Italeri now has a lot of the old ESCI dyes)

As far as the Panzer III Ausf L goes, it's much too new of a kit. I bought it a while back just to see if it had the same parts as the older type M/N Panzer III but it doesn't, really. I have two of the M/N kits and this kit is pretty much necessary.
Yeah, yeah the Nichimo JagdTiger is the right one, but why not save some money and use the Tamiya one? The detail looks almost exactly the same.

Does anyone have anything new to share? I am afraid I don't... My Y Wing is on hold now as the hospital sucks away my money... At least when it comes to model building you can plan on being broke - you don't plan on forming an abscess on your bowel and having to stay a week in the hospital, then have an interval appendectomy.

Most probly know already. But I've confirmed the 1/500 Yamato
The Ise is most likely identical, and as one comes up on ebay
2-3 tmes a year as opposed to maybe 1 for the Yamato it's
considerably easier to find.

Hmm - JB Weld might do the trick, but I might actually get the local machine shop to drill tiny holes in the brass and pin it to the Saturn V engines and L'eggs egg ends... depends on if they can do it for me for free
