Y-Wing Building

Well i for one cant wait to see you add those parts Jamie, this thread has been my favorite read since i joined this forum, the joy, tears and heated debates always make me smile :p Just a query, what did Dan S use on his Y, did he handcraft the neckpiece?........lee

Dan used the real parts. But like the rest of us he ain't talkin'. M. D. helped him nail down the hard parts I believe.

Another shot in the dark here. Have you considered the Dragsters from that timeframe?
Alot of them look like they could have cockpit tubs as well. They range in sizes 1/25,1/24
1/16 and I see an old twin engine one thats even 1/8.
I just don't know which were released during that time :(

I've considered many different things over the years... Maybe the new book Sculpting A Galaxy will shed some light as far as different shots of the kit racks at ILM from the day. Then again most publications seem to focus on the PT so I won't get my hopes up.

Oh well. Then I say it's a large banded Crusader's shield . A couple of airbreak canister's
and the wing from a really tiny jet fighter :lol
It'll probly be the very last piece holding me up as well 5 years from now.

Anyway, here's an interesting piece I think I can ID :D
This would be piece #4 from the obove mentioned Oceanliner.

Same stuff used on the X-wing. Can't recall, I have a sheet of it somewhere. I guess it's not made anymore. I see it I can dig it up, the info is stamped into the sheet.

OK... I guess that is HO then? I was just going to buy a sheet from Plastruct for my smaller Y - it would be N scale for that if the SS X and Y Wings use HO. I think the manufacturer was Holgate & Reynolds. I was also going to order a bunch of heat sinks from Allied Electric, but it appears that they are not being sold anymore.

the brick sheet is HO made by holgate and reynolds. I have a ton of it email me so you can get some ok
take a look here I spent the whole day making these about all I can do. I feel like I was hit by a semi truck or trampled by a herd of hippos back problems again.

I want to know if anyone has kit scane of the tamiya 551 sheridan tank I would lke them please also if anyone has this kit and could cast some parts I will gladly trade my cast parts

Did you have trouble navigating their site? Looks like they've still got a couple left :p

Thanks for the link. I went there yesterday and it said they had 0 in stock and the price was listed as $0.00 (in red). Then I went to the Aavid Thermalloy site and it appeared that they stopped making them... Ah well, I will order a couple ASAP so I'll at least have a few to cast when I need to.

I will send you an e-mail Charlie.

Yes, H&R brick sheet hasn't been manufactured for years. I emailed a distributor about it and he checked the codes from the manufacturer and it did not show as a product that would be resupplied ever.

To be honest I haven't paid that much attention to that. I always thought they were just brass tubes telescoped, at least the model from MOTM seems this way. There is a variancies though... the original models had much more of a "telescoping" to them.

alrighty I have a limited amount of the red brick sheet used on the Y and the X I have 9 sheets 4.5 x 3.5 and beleive me that is more than enough for both. first come first serve email me for shipping info
please be ready to send a SASE

Since it's been a few days here's something new for ya'll
I'm 99% sure that these are the correct exhaust pipes. Minus 1 cylinder of course.
A WWI Biplane was stated earlier in the thread. That one is not correct. As it only
has one engine.
The 4 so called "Muffler's" have made fun of me since the start. But thanx to a clue
or two ;) I was finally able to track them down. So here's a clue for anyone still
looking. All 4 halves are in the same kit and don't look down at the ocean. LoL
The remaining kits have been mentioned in the thread.
