Re: Y oh Y oh Y

Would the tamiya 1/35 jagdtiger work for this kfz 186

Not sure, Guy. If you're just using it for the back of the head, then I don't see why not. The Nichimo kit is a grail for the Y though, and there are numerous other parts all over this thing.

Have you looked around on eBay for the Nichimo kit? The Nichimo King Tiger is also pretty much the same.

Re: Y oh Y oh Y

Will you adjust all the small raised panels on the cockpit to portray Gold 5?

I'm already in the process of redoing these panels. As its not a scratch build I'm not going to get too wrapped up in the fine detail but If i can add some correct kit parts here & there I will. I'm not a Kit basher & this is my first venture down that route so I know I will be calling on lots of help from friends in the coming week. Cant wait to get started though.

Flintlock you are a star for helping me with this, I have next to no knowledge when it comes to kit bashing as I've never delved into it before. I have done some scanning for kits whilst on vacation but come up with nothing. as its not a scratch build I dont mind if they just look right but are not genuine original kits. My mane question is the scale at the moment, I'm guessing at what scale to look for but would 1/35 be correct especially when it comes to tank parts?
I can get a Tamiya 1/35 jagdtiger from the Uk & the field gun but not sure about the Nichimo stuff? All help is greatly appreciated. Daniel mentioned about the lymb replacement I believe it similar to the parts on the AT-ST but have no idea what they would be. I guess I'm showing my green nes in kitbashing but I guess we all have to start somewhere??

Re: Y oh Y oh Y

Guy

The LEM replace, youll need a tranny disc from any of the Ford DFV F1's, ill hook you up buddy as ive got a bloody ton of them.

Nichimo....same as buddy, 1/35 scale!

We'll have to arrange (somehow) a few build days together lol, now that would be cool!

Re: Y oh Y oh Y

Thanks, Got a bit more done today, I removed all the raised panels from the top of the cockpit & added the Gold 5 version panels. Got a lot of it primed up, mainly to see where its blemished or what parts need more clean up ut I do feel its getting some where (slowly) A trip to Lee's this week should get it moving along .

Guy

Looking good bud, looking good, one thing, not sure if the kit came this way, but that scribe line across the nose is 'orrible lol, reckon we should fill that and clean it up with a nice clean scribe TBH.

If you do want to tinker away here this week, all good, im already going through carving out the LEM and making it all nice for the Ford Trans parts for ya LOL.

Re: Y oh Y oh Y

Re: Y oh Y oh Y

Could anyone help with a part for me? Work has started again on my Y & I want to get the tail fins more accurate to Gold 5, this part is not supplied with the Nieson kit & I'd like to try & locate something similar or the actual part.
Its the center horizontal section thats like a crane part or something ?? Any help would be ace?

Re: Y oh Y oh Y

Thanks Flint, Looks like we are both going to scratch these J, the vertical part is pretty easy but the crane part has me flumexed !!!!!! Also my timing belt snapped on my car today & the bill will be huge.......not a good day today!

Re: Y oh Y oh Y

Guy, I think the crane can easily be done with square-rods, what do you think ? I used to do R/C planes and most of the time there were those kind of assemblies ! No really hard nor long, and I know you have the abilities to do it !
Argh sorry for the car, hopefuly it wont be so expensive...

Re: Y oh Y oh Y

Had a test go at it today with styrene sheet, worked well but the shape is well off so I'll do them again next week/ Rods would be a lot easier but I think it works ok with sheet?
