Xtremenoob's halo 4 build

Re: Xtremenoob's Halo 4 build

Curious, what exactly are you using to create the hexagonal patterns? Looks like a decal of some sort placed on the inside of the visor, then sprayed with Mirrachrome?

Well your about right exept it was placed on the outside

wow that amazing, great detail!

How did you do the visor? what materials did you use?

1/16" PETG plastic, that was vacuumformed and dyed orange using IDye Poly. Then alclad II mirror chrome Was airbrushed n the inside and a negative honeycomb stencil on the out side, a light coat was then added on the outside before taking off every individual hexagon to revealing the visor i have now.

hope that helps im doing some videos of it explaining and showing some of the process i go through into make the helmet and visor

I am currently finishing off my iron man suit and I will move straight onto this build.. is there any advice in building this? I am going to be using foam too. any good videos you recommend would be grand mate

Fantastic work, I really admire the detail you've put into this! The visor looks a million dollars, well done!

Quick question, what's your technique for applying the silver weathering on the helmet?

are you selling any cast of the helmets?

I will not be selling casts just yet due to short on material but I have the finished one up for sale on the 405th website

We'll I just used a lot of reference pics and made paper templates that then transferred to the foam, once made all the basic shapes I then started to add all the detail

Thanks,
We'll I used foam.
The type you will find in a couch or a bed and made a few triangle pieces out if it, then applied the silver

Truely wonderful. You have set me a bar to aim for indeed! Well done! You approached the visor in a way I was thinking about the other week, happy to see that it will work! :D

Hey guys I'm aback with another little update.
Here will be the main leds in the helmet using super right leds and 39ohm 1/4 wat resistors powered by 4 AAA (6volts) batteries

I also made a few helmets, and will be giving one away to a local hobby shop as I remember spending all my time and having fun in my school years, this was how I got into this hobby.

You might think I have a lot visors but the clear ones are screw up ones with some marks/ scratches or didn't pull as detailed as I wanted them to be. The dyed ones I only have 4 good visors and the other dyed and chrome ones were dyed to much orange so the visor isn't gold/orange I wanted the colour to be. But now that I have worked with my new plastic I know how to improve for future helmets yet to be produced.
