Here's the latest update! I started the neck. Now I know that it's rather a long neck (more like the Queen, I thought), but because of the jaw mechanism, my head needs to go under there! I shall try and compensate by making the chest piece and shoulder arches higher up, and try to extend the tops of my own shoulders a little. We'll see how that goes. Hopefully, this will make the whole thing a little more slender, too (as I'm really NOT slender!!) I'm really going to have a problem storing thsi when I've done as I don;t have that much space! HAHAH! I think I may have to find an old mannequin!

And yes, it's bloody hot in there!!

This is really cool. I'm in the beginning stages of a Xenomorph build myself so it's cool to see different ideas and approaches. I also intend to use the pink foam and have it mounted on my head in a similar fashion, and I also plan on doing a hybrid xeno of sorts (but will probably go with the smooth dome). I wouldn't worry too much about the durability of the pink foam as I used it for stilts in my Groot build last year and even walking on it with my feet bumping into everything (and taking a few bad stumbles) the foam held up fairly well for impact-related stress.

You mention you're not happy with the head dimensions... how long is your xeno head from front to back? I've been drawing out patterns and I can't quite settle on a length that has the right look but also will be relatively manageable to wear and transport.

Were you planning on having the inner jaw pop out in some way?

Thank you mate! It's 90cm front to back. I think it's more the jaw on mine is a little longer than I'd have liked, and perhaps the helmet is too far back, so the rear of the head doesn't stick out as much. And alas, no. I'm not planning on having the inner jaw move. I wanted to keep the mechanism as simple as possible, hence why it's a simple pulley system rather than full animatronics. I'm going to be making some digi - stilts too..THAT will be fun..eep...!!

Looking forward to seeing yours!!

Gloves almost done. Just need painting! Not screen accurate, but then again, the whole thing isn't so I don't care! It's MY Xeno Fluffy.

Thanks Gothic! The original plan was to have it open and close with my mouth, but that proved to be too uncomfortable. Especially as I wanted the lips curling (unfortunately, the way I decided to do it means that only the top lip snarls now!)

Anyway, another update tonight. I started on the mid-section. Ribs started..tubes and details tomorrow!

Another quick update on the sternum! The head's movement is restricted due to the materials, so I'm having to work that out a little. Trimming bits of here and there...but this is it so far...!

This is awesome! I did something similar, but didn't do nearly as good a job nor work out nearly as many of the details you have. Excellent work

Cheers mate!! I just have a lot of time on my hands! Benefits of living on my own and having crap all decent on TV once Star Trek, Supernatural and Gotham have finished hahah!!

More updates!! I know I said I wasn't doing the "head rest" bit..but I did..so there! Though I deliberately kept it shorter than it needs be due to head movement. I've also added some detail behind the ribs. Judging by the crappy photographs, you wouldn't believe I'm actually a photographer!! hahah!!
