That's a good idea. I've already tried rubber cement, but I dribbled it flat as it's pretty liquid and unfortunatelyit rolled back and stuck to itself. I have some glossy liquitex flexy varnish which will work to go over it, I just need to work out how to make the"drip" shapesout of the cement.

Just a small update as I'm ill. Full of snot (which I won't be using for slime, btw!!) Anyway, the head got damaged a little the other day when I was working on it. I could fix it, but what's a warrior without a couple of scars, eh? 0066.jpg0065.jpg0064.jpg0063.jpg0062.jpg

That is really good work! Styrofoam! Who knew you could get that sort of detail?!? Is that the extruded pink foam? Glued together to make a block then shaved down?

That would make an awesome statue, but a costume, absolutely epic!

Thank you!! And Yup! It's mostly pink extruded foam. Carving detail done with a Dremel and a curved grinding stone bit, craft knife blades and good old sandpaper! I stuck the sheets together with expanding foam filler! Worked a treat! Made a HELLUVA mess! I only have a small flat, so GOD knows where it's going to go once it's done!! The details are made with various bits n bobs and some EVA. Oh, and condoms! Many condoms!

Drool mk 2. I'll leave this to dry for 24 hrs and see how sticky and durable it is. The glue gun was too solid to look any good. (and no, I haven't been watching those Christina Aguilera videos again...)0069.jpg0068.jpg0067.jpg

So I started on the neck. Before and after heat gun treated shots. As suspected and very annoyingly, the head is a little bit short, but there's nothing I can do about it now. Which sucks. Booo! I may try to arrange the back of the neck so it gives the impression the head is longer. Details to add next.

Ahh cheers! Drool Mk2 worked really well! It even has little bubbles in it. I'll be attaching it towards the end so as not to snap it off, but it has just enough movement to look realistic. I'm going to put some inside the mouth so it's there when it opens, too. Might make some more just for a laugh!!
Looking great!! How did the drool MK2 turn out?

You're welcome!! Awesome to hear. Really can't wait to see this all come together

how did you strengthen the foam from being battered or did you leave it
I've pretty much left it, aside from thick layers of spray varnish, and brush on polyurethane varnish for the front of the dome. I'm hoping that'll be protected enough for minor bumps. The only other option I can think of will be to resin the whole lot, but that'd be expensive AND heavy, and I'm on a really tight budget!

Started sticking a couple of the neck panels on. It still looks a little short, but I've stuck the panels on as close as I could to the helmet, so it helps give the illusion of length.View attachment 605205View attachment 605203View attachment 605204
