Xbox 360 R2D2 console Star Wars Kinect. New release date June 2012

Looks cool, there's a lot in the bundle, and I need a new XBOX. But is it really worth five bills?

that's what I thought but it's really like 400.00 because it was 449.99 and at target you got a 50.00 gift card to use on anything else. The memory being larger and the fact you could sell the C3PO controller at any point for decent money esp. at Christmas . The Kinects is the best part for my 7 year old either way.

Good question. The new Xbox 720 is slated for release in 7 months so I'd be hard pressed to spend 5 bills now when a new one is on the horizon.

Here's a pic of the 720.

there is no release of a 720 this year not even next year. there will be a update 360 end of the summer nothing more. the photo's you are showing is a prototype there are many of those

Well I picked up my console yesterday. I needed a new Xbox anyway. I played the game for about 6 hours, and I have to admit it was a blast. The Rancor Rampage was a lot of fun.

The story mode of the game was WAY better than I was expecting. The controls work very well. I did have my graflex in my right hand while playing, because....

I dont think this game will win any awards, it isnt the Old Republic. I say just take this game for what it is, a fun game. Dont read too much into the graphics (which arent bad, just cartoony), just have fun with it.

If you are a Star Wars fan I think you will enjoy it.

Got mine in today. I had a $100 gift card from Best Buy and a couple hundred in Paypal from selling Star Wars stuff I didn't want to keep. So I didn't feel the five bills pain.
Looking forward to having this console seeing how the last game system I had was a regular Xbox. Trying to figure out how to hook it up to my Home Theater system so I can play on my 106'' screen. It will be SWEET!

neither do i, the star wars kinect game got terrible reviews, but then again it was more geared to the younger generation. jason derulo dance game in the star wars universe? give me a break...

lucas has really sold out

Oh for the love of...it's just one mini-game on a party-game disc, could everyone get over the dance game component already? What about the Pod Racing, lightsaber duels, rancor rampage, and campaign mode? It's a bit of fun based on one of the more successful Kinect efforts and it's obviously been done very tongue-in-cheek. Jeesus people can blow stuff out of proportion.

This. We had friends over to play and a good time was had by all. The dancing portion IS a stupid game. But it's also a lot of silly fun. So far I like the Han Solo segments best, especially when Lando steps in.
I genuinely enjoy Rancor Rampage. However, we don't quite have the amount of space needed and are using the Zoom device, and the controls aren't always very responsive. That gets frustrating sometimes.

o

How have you guys found the Zoom? I've heard mixed stuff about it, but could definetely use what it's promising.

I've NEVER been able to figure out how to calibrate the Kinect. I know there's a calibrate sequence, but it's not that well documented on the console - the box you are supposed to line the glasses up with (?) never seems to do anything after I line it up no matter how much I wave the card around.

On the subject of SW:K...crap was that fun! Kids loved the hell out of the Rancor mode and Jedi Destiny (gotta admit I found Destiny pretty fun too, the on-rails aspect actually didn't distract me at all during my play through, and I especially liked handling the quad guns on the Outrider!), I thought Pod Racing was a blast (although my arms HURT after a three lap race of Mos Espa), and my wife thought the dance off was hillarious. It's all presented in a casual package, not the self-important life-sucking EPIC of stories like (S)TFU or the prequels, and maybe that's throwing people. In all honesty, while not an epic piece of storytelling, as a casual game it's a blast to pick up and play with, and is additionally the best use of Kinect that I've seen.

There's been a lot of garbage SW games lately, but this manages to be FUN. With any luck there will be a follow up to this, where I'd love to see some OT stuff (imagine any of the OT battles as Kinect play!) and maybe a little more freeform lightsaber combat for duels (only area that kind of fell a little flat for me). Anyways, if you can, drop the too-cool-for-school attitude and enjoy this package for what it is, a really fun casual gaming experience.

well, the retail store I work at dropped the price on these to $399 today so I used my 10% and got one today.

I havn't hooked it up yet. and I know nothing about xboxes.
