X-Files Premiered 17 Years Ago

Jose Chung's From Outer Space is still one of the best TV episodes ever written.

"You mean Lord Kinboat?"

"Bleep."

I need to dig that one out...

I can't believe it's been that long. I was 14 when the show premiered. I can still remember watching the teaser commercial for it... a file cabinet with green light pouring out of it and then being told it was coming. I watched it up until Duchovny left... much like every one else.

And WHY did the producers feel that Robert Patrick was a good idea?

I don't think he or Annabeth Gish did bad at all. I just think by that point the stories were going down hill.

I still think that episode with the sewer monster, I think it was called "The Host" is my favorite. That was awesome!

It was the best on TV, it was the worst on TV.

You can only tease the fish so many times before he loses all interest. Same with TV shows and an audience. I greatly enjoyed many episodes, but there came a point where the main plot seemed so far away from a resolution that gave up on the last few seasons. Never looked back, never saw the movies.

ditto. i cant think of a plot remotely memorable, just bits and pieces. like the worm people, the inbred cannibals, bruce campbell, and that fat kid from the sandlot commiting suicide by putting rocks in his pockets and riding his bike into a lake in one ep, and in anoter as a completely different character as a vampire.

the show was starting to tank far before mulder left. t1000 was the final nail in the coffin.

For me, the episodes were hit or miss. And to top it all off, there was no big payoff in the end.
All in all, I liked the episodes I liked....whatever that means:rolleyes
