Wonder Woman cast

So, I just saw this story on io9 and I'm... well, less than thrilled with the choice. She's tall enough for Diana, but she doesn't even REMOTELY look like one would expect a Greek goddess to look (at least in my opinion).

io9. We come from the future.

I had a hard time as it was when I heard Mr. Ally McBeal would be involved and this does not help get me interested in giving this show a chance at all.

Hey, it's the fake Kara! I had no idea she was Jessica on Supernatural.

She's... not really what I expected. Actually she's pretty short for WW. Is there still a WW movie coming out? Last time I heard anything about it was a while back, but there were rumors of Christina Hendricks :love

Granted, it's near impossible to find a tall, statuesque woman who can actually act. I can't really think of any off the top of my head. Gina Carano would make an excellent WW but I dunno if she can act or not.

I will give it a 4 episode shot like I do any new series, but I am not holding out much hope for it.

Chris

Wow, I didn't know she was 5' 11". I just remember her as short.

Ah well, there's always a chance it won't suck :)

Chris

No, no movie. This is a series by David E Kelley, best known for Ally McBeal. Myself, I was hoping for an unknown.

Don't think of him as Mr. Ally McBeal, think of him as Mr. Boston Legal. Sure, not exactly Wonder Woman-esque at all, but it was a damn good show. :lol

Read the pilot script. Nothing special. Opens with her running through some kind of con
so you see Iron Man and things like that.

this would have been my choice Missy Peregrym :love

A shame to have to dye all that blond hair!

We have had a blond WW on television in the past :lol

I kinda hope they leave her blonde....more costume possibilities for me :$ But honestly WW should have dark hair IMO, and Lynda Carter will always be the real WW to me!

I know on the casting call it was for dark hair and blue eyes. There are some photos of Adrianne Palicki as a brunette on google so maybe she's either not a natural blonde or she's planning to dye her hair...

She wouldn't have been my first choice but I guess I'll reserve judgement until we see it. I know part of the deal with the script makes mention of the classic costume and how the dolls of Wonder Woman in the original suit sell better so here's hoping we do see her in the original costume at some point. And I hope whatever the new outfit is, it won't be just a black trenchcoat or a hoodie like how they do everything on Smallville.

Blastr.com's story had the casting sheet they're going off of...

CEO?! "Vulnerable" woman?! It's Ally Mc-Frakin'-Beal in spandex!!! :angry

His job comes first and he wouldn't make room for the possibility that there is potential romantic relationship with Diana...SERIES REGULAR, 10/13.

I swear to the Comic Gods above, I think the ONLY
way we get GOOD movies of some of our childhood
superheros is from the different ANIMATED Series that come
out on DVD !

I think I'm just going to need to write a WW script myself and see if I can get any traction with it. There's no reason whatsoever that Wonder Woman can't have respectful and serious treatment the way that Batman has from Christopher Nolan.

A admit that Adrianne looks good in the picture DoubleD has of her with Dark hair, but that Gladiator chick LOOKS like WW with her build!

Not too shabby IMHO.

She could easily bulk up a bit. She IS tall. Has a REALLY pretty face and smile.

IDK. I am down for this more than Hathaway as catwoman. That and she is "unknown" to me, and probably a LOT of others. Which I always like to see new faces in these kinds of roles. When I see the Cap America pics I can't help but think... "hey look, it's Johnny Firestorm in a Captain America uniform!" LOL!
