I think this is the sole reason why I haven't come to terms with completely accepting the X3 as being likable.
Hey Fifth,
I had NO idea that Dan dyed the XO's himself! Especially starting from a gray transforming into a distressed marbled brown.
I have a new found respect for Dan.

I also think it loses some of the Wolverine-ness having the arm stripes be unequal in width and color. I understand maybe wanting to change it up a little, but the three amber stripes just look so perfect.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that likes the other jackets better than the X-3. I like the X-0, X-1, and X-2 because they are story wise the same jacket. The X-3 doesn't really fit, but I love how the stripes are blue and yellow like Wolvie's comic costume. I like all of the Wolverine jackets, but the X-3 is my least favorite, but not a "bad" jacket by any means.

Agreed entirely, on both counts..The X3 was never a favourite of mine, because it seems too "simple"? But, I have to admit, that it does kinda suit me as well...So, I was happy to see that, and have a newfound respect for the jacket....I shouldn't disregard jackets until I try them on..Basically..Heh..
And yes, I'd not realised that either...But he sent the first photo, and it hit me...He was "building this one from ground up"....It shows, because the browns in the final jacket are layered, and deeper in some areas, lighter in others..It's a brilliant effect that I'd assumed was just ageing on the dye job..But no, Dan does it all himself..Impressive eh? That's why I wanted to show the photos..THIS is what you pay for with a Vanson...Dan's hard graft, and it's WELL worth it...
Also, the duck butt question? I think we can lay to rest...Mine has nothing that stands out as being wider than the movie version..I was checking both yesterday and there's no doubt, this IS the closest you can buy to the movie....It's spot on there too....Just a touch more than the other choices out there..(For the reasons I've shown..)
Yeah eh? I hadn't expected both on the same day.....But I guess it makes a little more "sense" that way..Heh....The Wolverine from Hot Toys is actually brilliant....The clothing it comes with this time is more limited, since the movie wasn't littered with amazingly cool clothing, but for what they've got to work with, this is a great sculpt, and the effect is brilliant..I'd seen people complaining about the final version "not looking like Hugh Jackman", but I can'T understand that at all....It IS, no doubt, THE WOLVERINE...And I like the work done on the new face sculpt....Very cool....

And my table of toys...Kinda like the fortress of solitude, but with less space....LOL..These are only the Superman and Wolverine ones though..The Batman and Indiana Jones toys get different locations...LOL

Just to double check, the Vanson jackets from Dan have no deep curve on the rear of the kidney panel..They are closer to the movie than the previous photos of Dan's jacket, and, in my humble, are THE closest jacket to what is seen on film out there right now....That might be cold hearted to some of the other sellers, and it's not meant to be..But Dan's jackets ARE the best...And while the others are decent prices, and different colours, and better at time and contact perhaps? Dan's are still WAY ahead of the game for me...

Wow, that Hot Toys Wolverine looks NOTHING like Hugh at all. Normally Hot Toys is usually pretty good and nailing the actors likeness, but they really missed the mark on this one.

I was going to say the same thing - that face is somebody, but it ain't Jackman. Maybe the ******* child of Aaron Eckhart and Patrick Dempsey. So weird!

Hahaha.....I really can't see what you guys see at all then......It's pretty right for Hugh Jackman in The Wolverine to my eyes.....I don't get what you're looking at... 
It's a touch thinner, more drawn out than Jackman looks usually...But that aside, I can't say that it's "miles off" Jackman at all....I think that's a fair bit of an overblow on the reaction? It looks about as close to Jackman as the X3 version did....Close enough, better at some angles, and worse at others....

Yeah...I don't really get the "no way! It's miles from Jackman" comments....I really can't fail to see Hugh Jackman in the sculpt.....I suspect that some people DO have a genuine desire to make Hot Toys come off looking bad, but I can't say that the previous comments were on THAT line, so...I'm baffled....It's closer than the last one, the X3, and closer than the first too actually (X0), so....I'm not sure that saying "that face is somebody, but it ain't Jackman." is quite right........It's clearly Jackman....Not as solid as say, the Superman sculpts, but still....No doubt it IS Jackman...
I'd assumed my eyes were misleading....Glad to know they're not.. Hehe...

yeah I agree it's not perfect but it does look like him just have the origins one at the min but have the x3 and this one coming this month so can't wait to get them
just hoping ing for a days of future past one to be announced

Hahah...I missed the Origins...Kicked myself....I loved the jacket details...Would have been well happy with that...Then they opened the flagship store here in Harajuku and now I can't stay away....(Or rather, stop..Since they send them free of charge to your doorstep a few days earlier and with discounts)....Evil..

I like both mine...The X3 wasn't an amazing sculpt, but decent enough, and The Wolverine one is a step on from that I think...Not 100%...But clearly accurate in most of the poses I've put him in before settling....
The initial posters were a little closer, but I can't say they've "lost it" in the final release....It's a more than decent likeness...In my opinion....

Yeah was very happy to track one down a few months ago
have been waiting for a statue but that didn't seem to be happening any time soon so thought if get the hot toys
will do a comparison shot of the three when they all turn up
Hot toys are dangerously addictive
Yes, Hot Toys are insanely addictive.....The shop is worryingly so....I go in there, and they suck me in with all the insane goodness on selection (Not all of it is Hot Toys, obviously, they sell "high class toys", so...A selection that is enough to bankrupt a rich man...)..
I love it, but it doesn't help me stay in the black...Heh..
