Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

YES! :) hahaha This is the perfect place, MJF.
I can't wait! As a historian with a deep love for Japanese culture and history, I seriously can't wait to see what they do with this film. And it's great to see some great names associated with the project! :)

As far as jackets go, I just got mine back from the tailor today and it looks AMAZING. He brought up the sleeves at the shoulder and now the jacket fits me soooo much better. The stripes are more in the right place and I'm not swimming in it any more.

I'm wearing it at SDCC tomorrow, and I'll post a pic here when it's over! :)
I don't know if I'll be able to get one up tonight since I'm meeting my friends at the hotel we're staying at for the week.

For those of you attending SDCC, I really hope to see you there!

Back to Wolverine, I took a look at Origins last night on FX and I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks on me or what but I have reason to believe t hat the indian head belt buckle is 'stamped in' rather than that 3D face we are all accustomed to who have the Chief buckle. I did a little hunting on the Bay and found the Wolverine Origins Hot Toys buckle and it was exactly that, stamped in. Anybody else know what I'm talking about?

I agree.

I think all the belts buckles have been altered or reconfigured in some way. None have the giant nose that sticks way out like on the original buckle.

I'll find some pics to show what I mean.

Nick

I definitely see what you guys mean- on the toy, at least, it could be just that it would have been a lot more complicated to do detailing on the face and give it the 3d effect-

I don't know about the actual belt from XO though. I can't find a good enough picture to say.

As for what I've got personally- for now I bought a similar indian chief belt buckle from ebay and painted it myself... it turned out pretty nice all things considered but definitely isn't perfectly SA. haha

Interesting choices on the actors chosen to be in it....I'm encouraged to see that they're staying with Japanese actors rather than more Chinese or Korean names (Japanese actors can't usually speak English, so rule themselves out, whereas China and Korea have decent English ability and an understanding that it's essential, so tend to get better roles...)..

Decent choices I think.....Sanada-san is a great choice for Shingen....He's more than surly enough to hit that role well...

I'm also glad to see they're shooting in Japan....(Although I'd known that, since a friend of mine is involved with the production slightly)...

I'd like to see what the do with the martial arts side, although I'm not expecting much....As someone who came to Japan to study in the traditional martial arts myself, I'm more than aware that they tend to look a little too subtle on film to really "impress"....But I hope they get some of it halfway decent....No clanging swords into scabbards and some nice Jujutsu for instance...We'll see!

Should be good either way...Maybe I can find out where they're shooting and try and get a day or two seeing how close I can get to it?

Don't worry, if I even get close it'll happen here....

I have no idea what era they're setting the film in, but I'd guess that they'll be filming in Tokyo for some of it..So all I'd need is the days and locations..It'd be worth the trip just to get a pass-by....

My mate has been involved with helping the Japanese staff speak English clearly, so he's also closer than I am, and may be able to throw something my way....We'll see...Although I'm not expecting much there....

Anyway...It's worth my keeping claws out for....Would be great to be able to see that here....

Regards..(And nice claws! Saw those on Facebook! Quality set! Sorry, didn't send a friend request.....Didn't want to seem rude..)

Very cool!

I also count 20 links on the Wolverine Dog Tag lower chain, so the one I have can be shortened by about 10 links or so and still work fine..Sweet!

And the boots! Ahhh..All of it! Great photos!

I worry a little about the boots though. The boots that are paired up with the battle suit are wrong so who knows about the validity of the other ones?

Nick

Yeah...True enough, although the ones shown with the jean jacket do seem to hold with some of the screen shot grabs I've seen shown here...The rough design is on point for them at least...

Just ensure I used the correct ball size chain. I believe I requested 3mm from the manufacture. Otherwise using the number of balls may not ensure the correct length.

Man, I wish I had the image when I was designing the tag. It would have made things a lot easier.

Wish I was in San Diego right now touching Wolverine costumes. Grrrrrr....
