Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

Well, based on this image I can tell it's a Wested by those now-common zipper pulls. But back in 2006/7 when Wested was more known for their Indy jackets, the standard patterns for the X1 was horrid. Too long in the torso, off-colored leather and spotty stitching on some. On mine, the shoulder pleats/bi-swing gussets were too close together and prohibited movement in the shoulders, so the folded in leather stayed popped out. It looks like their pattern has either updated substantially or there was a lot of effort into this one jacket.

i don't understand why the wested is disliked it looks great to me

My Heron X2 was like that with the shoulder gussets always being popped out. It was really irritating.. Super tight across the back.. One thing i hope Heron Fixes on the X-1

Hey all, dont know if any of you are in the Chicago area, but the Wizard World Chicago Comic con is all this weekend. I will be there for sure on Saturday in full Logan/Wolverine gear, sweating my ass off in my Heron X-O. I will also be travelling with my Fiance who will be classic Lara Croft. So if youre gonna be there, keep an eye out for us and say hi.

Got my buckle in today and got it all painted up.

I painted the entire buckle with a black wash then I dry brushed the white on the feathers in several stages.Everything else I painted by hand then sealed with a clear acrylic and let dry in a sunny window for 45 minutes.

Then I went to the local park and grabbed a handful of river grit, held the buckle under the water and smeared the entire buckle wtih the sand in a circular motion. I ended up doing it twice because I missed a spot.

Then I sealed it again with the same clear acrylic after it dried off.

I just signed up to say that for us girls who love Wolverine what you guys do is just a w e s o m e :) I wish I knew a Logan impersonator where I live

I don't know about groupies per se, but my GF does get a bit annoyed when some girl starts talking to me about her collection of Wolvie stuff. But then, for my GF, i'm her own personal short, surly mutant! ;)

lol the opposite happened to me, my ex was the jealous one, of mr. jackman! I must admit it was nice he let himself grow some sideburns after that :lol

I think your wife is right lol (I still think its awesome). And my groupie activity goes as far as taking a picture with some of you (the one with the best costume :love)

Speaking of costumes, I got my claws in today. The guy must have been in a rush when he packed them because they were still tacky when I took them out of the packing peanuts.

As a result there are a few blemishes on the "blades" but I planned on sanding them down and repainting them anyway. Also the back part of the claws dont meet my hands correctly. so Im going to add some Milliput and get them just right before comic-con.

Going to the store to get smokes and after that I'll post pics of the almost completed costume.

Hey guys, figured I'd post this here to see if anyone else is having some of the same problems with their X-1 from Heron, I'm getting more than a little annoyed at this point lol.

First, the brass hardware on the collar has started to rust, not too sure why, it just started over the last couple months and it was stored in a dry closet, not worn, not exposed to water at all.

And this one is kind of major, a pretty good sized tear on the arm pit of the jacket. The jacket sat in my closet for months not being worn once, and I took it out one night and put it on and as soon as I did the seam started to pull apart.

Those are the only pictures I could get before my camera died but other problems are the zippers aren't working properly, a few other seams are slowly starting to come loose, it's nearly impossible to keep this jacket conditioned, within a couple days it's already dried out again.

Upside is that I do like how the distressing turned out on the jacket, overall I like how the jacket LOOKS, just not how it's holding up.

Overall, I'm just not happy with it anymore, it was bought brand new in December, and it looks like a jacket that's been sitting in an attic for 15 years, and not in a good way lol. And it hasn't even been worn a whole lot, maybe 10 or 15 times at the most and never abused and it seems like every time I pick it up there's another problem with it. I regret getting it now and think that the money would've been better spent going towards a different jacket.
