Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

Jorge and his team have a very talented eye for detail and they pride themselves in pleasing the client. All the while keeping cost to you down to a reasonable price. My next project will be an investment piece with my son in mind. I'll give you a hint: it's electric green in color. ;)

Oh, and Drool, I think I saw your sketches out on Facebook? My namesake's Jacket right? Looked pretty cool! I have NO idea about the character, since being in Japan means I'm ruled outta TV shows automatically unless I can download them in time...LOL....But on first glance, I actually thought it was a Wolverine make over you were up to!

Nice work!

Nice work!

On the stripes: maybe 1/16" wider...if that. And yes, you were privy to the images so that doesn't count. :lol
But yeah, I went for the real-world feel, and gave it that vintage cafe racer throwback look, like my two-toned Brooks leather jacket. Hopefully it works out.

He's getting pretty close, As said the sleeve should not be that articulated, sleeve stripes might need just ever so slight an adjustment, and there is definitely something in the back panel that needs some adjusting like the curves are almost exaggerated.

Here's my Logan's Closet version compared to the original screen used...and by the way this is a standard Logan's Closet customer jacket owned by a fellow forum member.

Oh man. All this is making me want another jacket now... especially a custom one.
I'm still breaking in my current/new one! XD
It's Heron and I love it, but as expected the shoulder area is a bit too big for me as a woman. :/ But I didn't have time before SDCC to get a custom one, unfortunately.

We'll see what the future holds...! hahaha

The Heron jacket is looking amazing! I'd agree with the slightly bigger stripes and maybe moving the shoulders a little bit over.

miss wolverine,

You could try to get your jacket soaking wet, such as standing in a rainstorm or letting it sit in a tub of water for 10 minutes, then wearing the jacket until it dries, being as active as you can all the while. This will help to form the jacket to your body. I usually work the sharp corners and edges as it is drying, this gives the jacket a well worn appearance and should soften the sharp outline of the shoulders being to large.

YOU could put it in the dryer on high checking it ever 5 or 10 minutes. It will shrink a little bit. After it fits better, wear it in the shower. My jacket fit much better and was looser after the shower.

Oh man. Thank you both so much for the suggestions!!!

So wetting it should shrink it pretty well?
This is my first nice leather jacket, so it makes me super nervous to do anything to it, but obviously you guys are experienced with this kind of stuff and I trust you. :)

So maybe if I just dunk it and wear it abouts for a bit, it should shrink a little? How long might it take to dry?

I'll definitely give it a try- I think even a little bit of shrinkage would make it look a lot better. :D
I'll post a pic this evening or something so you guys can see what it looks like pre-shrunk.

I meant dryer lol.. Put it in the dryer :) Leather shrinks when it heated past a certain point. You could try a hair dryer on the hottest setting and just focus on the shoulder back area. It may or may not be hot enough to shrink. You could dunk it in water. I say shower because allot of the excess dye will wash off and that's a good thing, it will help it look more aged. Wear it out wet on a hot day it will dry in a few hours of being in the sun. Wearing wet allows the leather to form to your body and the jacket will become more comfortable after its dried.

hahaha yeah I kind of figured you meant the dryer? I remember you mentioning that before. :)

The hair dryer idea sounds interesting! I might try that first and if it doesn't work maybe do the wetting thing to get it to form to my body better?

/fear hahahaha This is exciting, though! I'm glad I can get it to fit a little better!

In any case, I will update you guys once I try out some shrinkage methods!

I might try the water dunking on my X2 too. Will that wreck the suede though? Mine fits well but is a bit bulky since I prefer a more fitted jacket. If it really will mold to your body thats pretty cool.

I said this before but I have a nice X1 magnoli leather belt. Its probably around a size 28 or 29 for any small waisted guy (or gal). PM me if anyone is interested or I'll throw it up on the bay soon.

Still haven't heard from Tony- I'm facebook friends with him too. :(

I actually ended up going to a tailor with my jacket, so we'll see how it turns out. Because the leather is so light I was nervous to dunk it and ended up just bringing it in to a leather tailor. But we'll see what the future holds for it. haha

I can't believe SDCC is this week!!!

Your colors might run, that's about it.

I'd suggest avoiding a full dunking with a suede jacket, or with the suede sections at least...Suede is a far more porous leather than your standard type, and as such will suck up more water, and shrink a fair bit more than the rest of it....As well as the possibility of colours running and shape changing...

Probably best avoided...In small doses it's fine of course, but soak it and it'll absorb a lot more, then shrink a lot more than the rest of the body, and that would lead to shape damage possibly...

Not saying it's certain to do so...But throwing any kind of suede leather into a shower/bath would be rather unwise...Rain is about the limit of what it's able to take and recover from..I wouldn't push it on an expensive jacket..

You can do it...But I wouldn't recommend a shower with a suede jacket...If you need to do it, throw some decent suede protection on the suede areas and wet the rest of the jacket as much as you need...That should shrink it a touch and save the suede..But don't get the suede as laden with water as the rest...Not wise.

I'd reckon....(I've not done it...Because I've seen what happens to my Timbs when they get soaked...Sometimes they "recover" (Especially if it's older suede which has "settled" some), but sometimes not...But either way, best avoided..)
