Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

thanks miss!

enerv - yep, should be there again this year! Will be good to see how your Wolverine jackets are breaking in.

Flynny - got you covered now I think. :cool yours starts distressing tomorrow!

Nope, sadly that trip is still not doable for me yet, my in did not work out last year and this years schedule of life is too tight... hopefully next year.

One day...when I have the time and money as well, I will make epic road trip to the mecca that is SDCC. In either the X1 or X2 garb. Do they allow backpacks in the conventions? I was thinking of rocking the X2 backpacking scene and having a wolfy companion. :p

I haven't done any type of aggressive distressing of the X-1. I've just been wearing it at every possible opportunity. I'm actually surprised that I'm still able to wear it. The first day I got it the temperature jumped to something like 90 degrees, but it's been up and down since then. It's kind of interesting seeing where I'm putting the most stress on my body, since some parts of the jacket have taken on a lot of wear and some are still looking quite new.

If I don't order one before, I doubt I'll get out of NY Comic Con without buying another jacket.

I'm going to my first, and possibly only SDCC in a few weeks. I probably won't wear either jacket, though. A leather jacket in California in July doesn't seem like a good combination. More likely I'll wear the Spider-Man costume again.

Went to sdcc in 2010, backpacks are indeed allowed so are full metal claws :lol If you guys do go, bring lots of deodorant/cologne/perfume and be ready to sweat like a mug. I wore full leather top to bottom including a helmet, and I lost most of my water weight within the first hour. even my more open costumes made me sweat. they do of course have A/C but all the bodies in there created a giant oven lol. Im hoping to go again in 2013 this time rockin wolvy hopefully.

also a tip for the spidey costume, ive heard people put dedorant on many many parts of there body in order to prevent sweat stains, and trust me you will sweat. there was a dead pool that had sweat permanently staind into his lycra and it looked so nappy

ew. Thanks for the heads up on the backpack thing Josh. Glad I can bring my aluminum claws too. Can't wait to experience the CON scene for the first time. I want it to be SDCC, but only time will tell though. If my jacket hobby keeps me broke, I'll never make it... :lol

I wore a Luke ROTJ costume at SDCC. It was made from 100% Wool Gabradine. It was fine until we stepped outside for photos. I was probably only out there for 15 minutes. But it was long enough because even when I went back inside, I still felt like I was baking.

In short, if you are wearing a non-breathable costume, avoid stepping outdoors in costume if at all possible.

Thanks for the costume tip. I'll bring plenty of deodorant. It's an expensive costume, and I don't need to walk out of there with any permanent stains. Even if there are no stains, I really don't want to be roasting all day.

I had to stuff womanly pads in my helmet to soak up the sweat :behave
yeah I concur on trying to stay away from being outside to long, you roast quick, my leather boots also had sweat collected in them after being there for 7 hours straight taking pics and walking around.

for ref Im the one in right all in black leather lol

But back on topic has anyone heard from jorge, I sent him an email about possibly buying a X2 but no response yet.

Hey,
They definitely do NOT allow metal anything anymore... Now they've got a 'weapons station' where all prop weapons are supposed to get tagged - metal claws won't make it through the screening process. It's totally possible to sneak past the station, buuuuut... not a great idea. Backpacks are totally allowed! Puppies are not. :) I'll be down there this year, hopefully I'll bump in to some of y'all!

Metal claws were allowed last year. They must have tip covers though.

yeah metal claws are totally allowed, it took security 2 days to tag my friends swords with basically a sticker strip and one of the guards asked her to pose with them out for a pic "which is supposedly against the rules" Comic con tbh doesn't care as long as your being respectful about the weapons, Ive seen everything from airsoft, metal claws, swords, and even some blank fire weapons that look pretty real. So many people pose with live weapons even with staff and vendors that it gets bypassed.

If you dont make a big deal they wont make a big deal. is anyone hitting up dragon con, thinking of making arrangements to hit it up this fall.

for ref as easy as google search comiccon and compare rules towards pics of costumes
