Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

I made these about 3 years ago.I figured this was a good as place as any to show them. They are not movie accurate,but was sure fun to make

I wish I was capable of doing that kind of stuff! haha you guys are so talented. I can sew a bit and that's the limit of my skill set.

yeah I'm probably going to break down and just get the XO from ebay in XS... It should fit me pretty well with the only big sizing issue the arms being a little long. I haven't heard back from Heron yet and if I don't hear from them tomorrow I think I'm just going to order it.

Ebay says they only have one left and I don't want to get in trouble waiting for Heron since they'll probably take a month to make a custom one for me anyways and I'll be crunched for time that way. :/
The ebay ones sound really nice and reputable- I think I'll end up just going for it.
 
Ya know miss wolvy. they are not that hard to make. I made one claw from 1 inch wide x 1/4 inch thick piece of wood from the hardware store.2 bucks. i made a paper template of the claw and traced it on the wood. borrowed a belt sander and shaped the claw.then made the blades with a router bit.the molding a casting part i just taught myself from the web.Bought the molding supplies from professional plastics. this whole project was maybe a day :) (not counting the silicone mold cure time)
 
I've actually, thankfully, convinced Bowelrock to make me some. :)

I appreciate your support (and the explaination!) but I am completely hardware unsavvy (if that's a word). If I made them they would most definitely end up looking like weird misshapen silver spears bulging out from between my fingers. D;

That's so cool that you did it though! You make it sound so simple but considering that I own none of those tools and haven't done anything with wood since shop class in the 6th grade...

It's great seeing all the cool stuff you guys can make! :)
Wandering around on the rpf it's crazy seeing everyone's molds and things like that. I wish I was crafty!!
 
I'm buying the XO jacket from ebay right now... I just don't think Heron can get it to me in time custom and with these measurements it looks like it's going to fit me really well anyways in XS.

Excitement! hahaha I've been mulling over this for a long time and I think this is my best option. And I'll have it mid June!
 
Yeah- we can only hope they turn out for the best! I just don't want to be worried about time...

I can't wait until I get mine!!! :D Probably won't be for another week or two though.

I ordered dog tags from Mara Jade's Father though and those should be here in the next couple of days!

Are you using the jacket for cosplay or just for fun? :)
 
I've wanted this jacket since 2000.....so i'll take option C: obsession :)

You may get it sooner then that.I ordered mine friday night.So with the holiday weekend, it will only be 5 days from mexico to maine :)

I'm gonna be in Texas for the week. I should have met them at the border :)
 
I look forward to seeing the new proto once done, I still need to weather my jacket more its just been so damn hot here in AZ recently
 
What kinds of things do you do/use to weather the jackets?? :)

And I live in San Diego so maybe I'll get mine super fast! hahaha


And I'm all for Option C: Obsession. lol it's a lifestyle choice. :D
Except I don't obsess over something for long before I act on it. hahaha
 
Well when something costs $500-$650 and life gets in the way it makes the obsession and completion that much sweeter. As soon as I hear back from Jorge I'll let you guys know. He's been pretty quiet the last few weeks. Hopefully busy with jackets/prototypes. ;)

I ordered mine a few days ago and am eagerly awaiting the announcement that it's in the mail.

No I totally understand about the waiting- I can't even imagine saving up for something like a Vanson. Although we'll see... hahaha
