Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

You guys I'm really happy the thread I started has turned into a wealth of information and helped others get a jacket as well :) Thanks to everyone how has helped!

Thanks guys!! At a good price, the Helmut Lang's are few and far between. $25...you should be kicking yourself. :lol
I am in between a 38 and 40 US size. But in Euro (according to HL) I am a size 46 Euro. Apparently the rule of thumb is to subtract 10 to find your rough US to Euro size. I lucked out at the 46 as it was spot on.

1bat4u...that really does resemble my jacket, which is a good thing as it's distressing is top notch. ;) Great job, man!!

I wanted to share more Wolverine wear info as I just acquired a jacket from the same make/model.

Looks great. Will you be putting tears in the back as well? :lol

I just picked up a 100% screen INaccurate denim jacket from Kohl's. It fits perfectly under my X-2. I've worn the X-2 every day since I got it a couple of weeks ago, and have yet to experience weather it didn't keep me comfortable in, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to be prepared in case the temperature dropped severely. It's going to happen sooner or later.

:lol no tears, but I may actually distress it to the SA level with a few frays here and there to add more character.
The mahogany leather that Heron chose is quite unique as 1BAT4U has proven. The leather is a red brown with a dark chocolate topcoat that gives it a dark distressed look, but over time that red undertone starts to show through, making it more screen accurate.
Still looking for that SA flannel from the first bar scene and the Sandy Dalal red paisley at the end of X1. Been searching off and on for the last 2 and half years for either to no avail. Both pattern have plenty of "close enoughs" out there but to find the right match is hard. Assuming the flannel is true vintage and the Sandy Dalal was a low limited number from NYC only.

More:

I believe I've already posted these but in case I haven't. ;)

You can see much of the detail in the black thermal shirt which was learned it was long sleeve, as well as the paisley pattern for the red Sandy Dalal shirt.

Nice find SD.
I'd like to someday be a Helmut Lang, for my getup, but it will be hard to 'sell' it to my wife that it is any better than the Levi jacket I have now. Could you post a few side-by-side comparison pics of the HL to a Levi?

-Alex

I was hit by a car on my bicycle in my X2...I'm fine but my vanson took a beating on the left side...One of the stripes has come unthreaded a little...IRONY.

As you can tell, there is minute detail differences. You can find a Levi Trucker jacket in any wash/distress/fit or color you want these days. So to have a Levi AND Helmut Lang is redundant.
I'm having a hard time justifying keeping my Structure jacket that is virtually the same fit, the only difference is that is has hand warmer and inner pockets, the wash is a lighter color and I've added SA distressing to match the screen worn HL jacket, even the cut is similar and buttons are silver.
If anyone is interested in my Structure jean jacket, it's a small size 38/40. I purchased it back in 2001 from Structure before they shut down in the malls.

Okay...

So I finally got a quote for the dog tags. The tags will be 1.75" Custom Antique Silver Dog Tags -1.5MM thick metal with antique Silver plating, 1 x 24” steel Ball Chain, 1 x .04" steel Ball Chain. As you know from earlier in this post if you have been following this (way too) long process, I wanted to make these tags cast from unplated steel or nickle but the manufacture could not make this happen. Instead, these will be cast in brass and then antique silver plated.

BUT...

Before I go throwing out any prices or taking orders, I want try one last manufacture to see if they can do an unplating option. I sent out an email earlier today because I was unsure if I was going to hear back from the current company. I want to give them a few days and sees what happens but rest assured, I will not wait too long.

One thing I do know is that when I do take orders, I will request 30 of these tags be spoken for by pre-pay before I sumbit my orders.

Anyhow, that is the current status.

Good to know about the levi jacket i will have to buy one now. As for X-1 jackets i really wanna see what Heron will do with there corrected jacket!

I can tell you B.Rock, that I've seen the chosen leather and it looks good. It's less thick than the X2, so it should be fine. It's predistressed just like the X2's mahogany and I'm currently awaiting more requests so I can give feedback.

MJF, thank you for the update. Depending on price you can already count me in for at least two. ;)

Last night I went to dinner with a couple of friends, and wore my X-2. The woman who brought us to our table offered to take our jackets to hang, so without thinking I just tossed mine to her. She was about 5', and maybe a hundred pounds, and she practically doubled over from the weight. I felt kind of bad, but still thought it was a bit funny.
