Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

I prefer steel. Aluminum is too light and is easily scratched or damaged and with the punched hole will be sawed through like the pewter with the ball chain. Not familiar with zinc, and how it reacts to skin and weathering over time, but I'm not willing to find out in the long run. Personally, I think that steel is the best investment to go with as we all know pretty much how steel wears and reacts and the strength and weight of it is right. All the proper characteristics of what we saw on screen, the steel provides us for a replica.
But again, this is my take on the matter.

Canadian Issue ID "dog" tags are an aluminum alloy. They were stainless Steel at one time but have been aluminum from about the late 60's.
It's a moot point though when talking about the Wolverine tags.

oh they are serious crazy about movie, hehe

I ask about the shirts from movie, isn't all same or little bit look...

Belt buckle I have some not match but look like okay.

The jacket I got and I look my files, grab the old my pic later.

Just for $hits and giggles, I recently acquired a Red Monkey vintage watch with chocolate X-Strap, same exact model as seen on Hugh Jackman in X2 and X3. I've been wanting one of these for years and so I set off to make many prototypes of my own, and now happy with my current design and doing runs with that design. Able to have extra funding now, I am happy to share the two finally next to each other:

hey, where did you got from ? I believe, some like Uncharted videogame, I think one X - handcuff from among thieves...

Negative. If that were the case the ballchain would saw right through the holes in a matter of weeks. I own a set of actual Canadian tags and they are steel and ones that were pewter which was about the same durability as aluminum but twice as thick and the ball chain sawed half way through in about a month or so timeframe. Thin durable, and hard as $hit to break apart are the ones issued and used widely today. They are steel like the US tags, only in a different style and slightly thicker than the US ones. You can find blanks online anywhere as you can the US version.

And my watchband in my recent set of pics with the vest is an actual Red Monkey vintage watch with silver face and chocolate brown X-strap just like Hugh's in X2 and X3. I recently went to RM's site and they no longer offer the X-strap with the vintage watch outright. I'm sure if you email them they will make you the watch, but they are pricey at $250.

Here's the site:

They seemed to have removed most of the original watchbands that made them cool.

Amazon has one for $203 if you want one.

Living in Japan means the only version I get is the dubbed Japanese voiced one.....Try imagining a VERY gay, slightly woman-like voiced Wolverine with a slight cold talking and you'd be close....Add in some sickness and you have the only choice I get on terrestial TV here....LOL....

I'd download, but quite honestly, it looks dissapointing in English too....Ah well...I'll stick to Batman: Year One...

On topic, I recently got some fairly decent tags from a Japanese shop called "Max Cady"...They sell a whole load of movie related goods and clothing, and zippos..And the tags aren't bad...Heavy as fo@k and solid enough to hit someone with and cause damage.....I rather like them, although I'm sure they aren't especially screen accurate....

Here's the link:
????????????????

And the link for the tags themselves:

So, for those of you who have forked over the dough for a Zimmerli Richelieu Rib Tank shirt:

... Expensive as all get-out, but cheaper 'stand-in' tanks just don't look the part. I'm thinking about getting one, but I've got a few questions to ask those who have them before I spend that much on an undershirt.

-How does the sizing run (some brands fit bigger/smaller)
I usually wear a size Medium tee-shirt, but the sizing posted on websites I've seen show that I would technically wear a Large by an inch or two - would I be better off getting a Medium or a Large?

-Where did you get it (if you got a deal)

Thanks,

Alex

EDIT:
Also, I see (and have read) that the Z tanks are kinda transparent, but they don't really look that way on screen... Is Hugh doubling up his tanks, or is it just lighting?

The tanks are thin, and woven differently that a standard tank top, as it's weave is light and super stretchy, and may be a little on the short side. Due to that stretch ( as I normally wear a a small, so that's what I bought) the cotton ribbing expands and becomes transparent, so I would recommend a size up. Dan from Logan's Closet and David Coppola here also have zimmerli's and they can add to this but the concensus is, if you're worried about it being see through, go up a size so you don't have to worry about the transparency or it becoming untucked, if you stretch your arms up.
From my experience though the elasticity of the ribbing is not-so-memory like and loses it's stetch at the end of the day and when you wash it, it does snap back to it's original shape. But if you are hardcore serious about owning one, yes it's a nice little addition, which is unique. Otherwise, save your $70 plus shipping on you single Zimmerli and you can buy other altenatives to Logan's wears. ;)

I've already tried that, and with the dark and lack of details from any angle from the film, there's not much to go on for a lead. The only thing I gathered is that it's a newer backpack as the details that we do see are modern and are now standard on backpacks like Northface and such. The main detail is the webbing on the shoulder straps with adjusting velcro and the large grip handle on the top with seems to be a standard piece I found in a luggage catalog. But overall design seems to be a large black vinyl or leather satchel type with a maybe a sinch and flap. Here are the images that are on FJ.Com that I've gathered:

Not bites the dust! Biting the dust would be if it stayed in my closet and only came out at Halloween. I want someone to own it who will be able to wear it all the time!

:lol

Very true. Glad you see it that way. Respectful in honoring the jacket and idea behind it. Sounds cheesey, but as you know, there's a lot of hard work that goes into a Danson. I consider myself an 'old soul' of sorts too. I guess that's why I get along with my wife who crossstitches in all of her free time. ;)

I was actually called 'eccentric' not too long ago, for all of the stuff I wear. Obviously they didn't understand the concept of freedom through clothing.
I just chose to do it my way, and not listen or mind fads and current fashions. I see myself as timeless really. Hard to pinpoint a style I go after. Blue collar late 50's early 60's is the best way to put it, if I HAD to pick an era, but there are elements of today's technology that I use when I ride. I guess at heart, I'm still that teen that rebels against the mundane normal everyday mall clothes.
Bringing it back to topic though, I feel that the X-Jacket personifies my attitude without punching faces. If that makes any sense.

Dog tag update:

I am not sure we are going to be able to offer this product for you. The factory has been working on the steel and it is not producing a stable product that the mold can be used with. Please advise.

I think Aluminum would be too light and could easily bend.

I know you mentioned zinc, is there any other silver-ish metal that is an option.

Will un-plated zinc look like steel?
