Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

Yeah....I'd seen Dan's belt, and was wondering if I should announce that he has plans to do the belt for sale on the site sometime soon.....But decided to hang back on it just in case....I think he may have announced it over on the FilmJackets site too......The plan to do all the belts used in the films.....

Well it's new to me since I can't view that site anymore from my internet. I can't wait. Sending you a pm fifth.

Just a reminder for everyone on this thread who missed out the last time, MaraJadesFather is running a new, closer style of the Wolverine tag used in X1 and 2 again...

These were the closest out there when the first sets were sold.. They've been corrected a touch more to be even closer, and well worth a look... Even if you have a tag that you think is ok, these WILL be better, and cheap too... 19 dollars shipped in the US...

Have a look! We need 30 names to send payment before the tags can be made, so any more takers means the rest of us can get the best tags in the world...

Thanks!

Hi Forum.

First , I have about 20 messages here I have to get through, so anyone who has sent them please know I am back and sifting.

Second, clearly I have been way for quite some weeks. I've had some family issues going on as of late and frankly needed to take a break to deal with them. I'm just coming back online and have found quite a few queries as to whether I will be doing the X-1 Jacket distressing tutorial.

The answer to that is YES. I am currently shorting and editing the video, which is going to be quite lengthy and should explain everything. I'll also be including in that video X-1 Indian Buckle how to-s and info on the upcoming Grommet and Rivet belt run.

I'll try and get you guys the heads up as that time approaches. It's great to be back and browsing all the great posts in the thread, seeing the progress Dan's made on his side of things, and all your Halloween pics. Just epic.

Here's a few pics from Comic Con, Halloween, and a couple from the inserts of the upcoming distressing video (in no particular order).

Welcome back.....

15 more sets need to be sold to hit the 30 basic to get the run made....Last I saw it was on 15 presold.....

And yeah, I'd suggest waiting on Dan to get the belts made perhaps...But 150 isn't sooooo bad for a handmade leather belt.....A touch high.....Dan should get them in at a lower cost...I'm hoping...But since there's no idea about timeline there, it's a while yet..

Here are a few pics from Comic Con NYC. I had actually not completely finished the distressing by this point. I had at this point about 10% left to do, mainly on the back and a few crease spots. I was weathering the thing up to departure for con. But being that it was mostly the back, and I managed to apply the first two primary surface distressors to it so it matched up more or less, It was more than passable.

You can, however, see the difference between the back and the front weathering in a couple of these shots. How it (back of Jacket) looks almost just about half way done.

The upper post meme, with the 70 hrs distressing finale, is the finished Coat. There is a bit more detail weathering on the stripes there and trim as well I applied after Con. Dirt, scuffs, etc. Just very subtle stuff. Hard to see regardless because the lighting really affects the photos especially at Javits center. The lights were just blazing and blow everything out.

I finished the distressing of the back of the coat on-camera for the distressing video for anyone interested.

See you all soon.

And thanks for your interest fellow Loganites.

Hello

Thought I'd just post about my experience buying straight from logans closet. I've read a few posts with people having issues with communications and wait time so I'd thought I'd post as to be fair I've had the opposite experience. I placed the order in June after I turned 30 I had exchanged emails with Dan for about a week before and he replied to every one sometimes took a day or so but with the time difference it's normal.

So then the wait well it turned up this week so it took about four and a half weeks. During this time Dan replied to my emails and his eta was spot on.
Now for the jacket I went for non wethered as I thought it would be cool to wear one in myself over years. It's built like a tank and the workmanship is superb but I think everyone already knows this.

So would I buy from logans closet again?
A big yes !!!
I'm planning on buying an X1 and having it look beat up and lose a stripe.

The pics absolutely sell it dont it? \\\ /// :love

Sadly, I think, even if I was blind, I'd be sold on the Vanson X2... Heh....But yeah, no doubt....I'd like to see it being worn, but I understand Ant's got a busy schedule, so as and when is cool!

I suspect my next....If I can manage it...Will be the X2.......It's a great looking jacket....Personally, not my favourite, but a lovely looking jacket...And the design really works well.....Impressive gear..

Its a bold and noticeable jacket, my closest thing to an X2 is a pvc jacket with yellow+red felt hot-glued onto it. But even then, i got recognition as a Wolvie jacket. Its peeled and now is just a half mesh shell now, but it did a good job for $25 :thumbsup

Yeah it's definetley a bright jacket haven't tested it outside yet :)

I like it because so few places get it right

antman84 That jacket looks great man! I'm with you, I'm ordering an X-1 from Dan right now and Dan has been great. It took him a little while to email me back, but it was just because I asked for some changes. to my jacket order. And again your X-2 looks amazing and it is just in time for this time of year!

I don't know guys.
I ordered my X-Men Origins from Dan and payed it in October 2013. Last I heard from him was in February 2014.. ever since, nothing. Somehow I feel I lost the money (I certainly hope I did not). :(

Have you tried emailing him regularly to check and double check? Dan isn't superman.. If he's missed your order, then you need to keep pushing him to remind him of it... If I'd waited a year for a jacket? I'd be emailing a lot to double check....
He won't ignore you.. If you paid, and he knows it? You'll get a jacket.. But it looks like he's forgotten your order.. So holla at him...

Having recently picked up on the subject of Wolverine jackets again after looking for an X3 away back in the days of The Last Stand being released, it's good to hear Dans' getting on well selling the jackets – used to have a few chats with several other regulars on the Superherohype forums about the jackets and getting a good one made, from the disappointment of the WEsted X3 release to the search for a good one elsewhere, took some time but looks like he got there in the end!

Reading through, and there's a lot to read through, seen other makers such as http://michaeljacksoncelebrityclothing.com and Soul Revolver get mentions amongst others, Dan's jackets are THE ones to go for by the sound of it generally - would love to get a jacket that is as accurate as possible, ideally an X3 and then an X2 but the costs are a bit high, not being a biker myself I wouldn't need the ability to add in body armour to the jackets or anything like that, if that affects price – there was a rumour or brief talk either here or another forum of Dan using a cheaper/different leather to make the jacket price a bit cheaper, does anyone know if that is going to be the case?

Dan was trying to work with an overseas maker to keep the costs lower, aye.. But was a little sad at the final results that they sent.. He hopes to have Vanson make the DOFP jackets now for the first Legacy run, it would seem... Honestly, I hope he does.. I respect the work that goes into a Vanson.. It's clear from all angles that it's "more than just a jacket".. And that's what you pay for.. A jacket that will last your whole life and not change...
I suspect that Dan will be able to source an overseas maker who works well, and use them for cheaper alternatives at some point, but Vanson are the fallback, and perhaps the problem is that once you've worn a Vanson? "Normal" jackets just don't have the same punch to them....
