Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

just got the word from heron today, my x-1 is finished and ready to ship. i sent them the remaining balance this evening. all in all thats about 3 months it has taken since i ordered it. from someone who has bought alot of custom clothing in the past, that is a long wait time considering they make leather jackets almost exclusively. having said that the pictures they sent me look great and they seem to have done my modifications. i will post lots of pics and a review when i get it.

A nice early Christmas present to you :) Yes, 3 months is a long time, but if it makes you feel any better, I have sent them 6 or 7 emails in the past 5 weeks asking to order a custom sized X2 jacket and have not received a single response yet... I also filled out their contact request on their web page, and still have not heard anything.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your jacket and hearing what you think of it when you get it!

Tell that to the people buying from Logan's closet and waiting over a year for their jackets lol
Cant wait to see some pictures of it. Haven't seen many detailed pictures of a Heron X-1 since I bought mine a couple years ago, looking forward to seeing how they've improved.

this is actually the second time i have tried to order the jacket. tried last year and they responded very quick to all my emails then just as we finalised all the details they dropped all contact. i only emailed them again this year when i saw they re did the website and had the x-1 on their catalog and shortly after i emailed them about making me one they removed it from their site. weird operation indeed. but they have kept their word in keeping me updated and sending me pics and emailing me to confirm that what they were doing was in line with my specs. so i can fault them there, its just the time frame is all.

I'm probably the wrong person to ask lol I've owned mine for around 2 years, and it pretty much never gets worn. The main reason being it's just sized too weird for me. It fits me perfectly in the body, but the arms are way too long, and way too wide, it just feels ridiculous to wear. I also had some issues with my liner pulling apart at the armpit seam, the brass hardware started rusting for some strange reason. My biggest gripe was with the construction of the sleeves, instead of a solid sleeve, with the stripes attached, it was all done in pieces, meaning that if you were to try to remove the stripe to make it more SA, you'd lose the entire sleeve of your jacket. However, Jorge at Heron, saw my posts here talking about my issues, and volunteered to fix my jacket at no cost to me whatsoever, but when I messaged him about returning it, communication stopped completely, and that was over a year ago. So it was a nice gesture, but in the end went absolutely nowhere. If you go to pages 72 and 73 I believe, you can see my posts and I even posted a few pictures.

All that being said, Heron's new X-1 does look leagues better than the version I have collecting dust in my closet. And as far as I know, the new X-1 doesn't have any of those faults that I had with mine. I wouldn't be worried about the jacket you're getting, I know they've put A LOT of time into getting this version more durable, built better, and more screen accurate. I'd love to have one of their new X-1's, but with the lack of costumer service I experienced with Jorge previously, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

aw man thats rough stuff, thats the worst thing about custom clothing on line, you are taking a risk and sometimes it doesn't pay off, i have been burned a few times myself but thankfully not on anything too expensive. hope fully heron can improve and you can think about another x-1, or try magnoli clothiers, i have their x-1 and i love it, but sadly i have gotten bigger and it no longer fits with layers so its a summer jacket now.

YAY I finally heard back from Heron that my jacket was done... but BOO right there in the first picture it was obvious, the pockets weren't the same angle! One of the slash pockets was a lot closer to the centerline at the top than the other! So I pointed it out, they agreed it was messed up (hoping I didn't notice??) and will remake that panel I suppose, and again let me know when done.

mannnnnn, hope I have it in time for xmas at least.

Looks nice!!! Odd how the screwed up the pocket, even odder yet how they "didn't notice" or even worse, were going to send it off regardless. Glad you caught it though so they can fix it up right before sending off to you!

I still have not heard a single response from any of my emails that I have sent....
 
I got my jacket from wolverinejacket.com, the other day, it is amazing. Well worth the money, Soldier was right in promoting this jacket!

Still no word from Logan's Closet and it's been just shy of 3 months now since I last herd from him...

I took it upon my self to call Vanson and see what was going on and I was told my X-1 had been completed and was sent out quite some time ago.... I don't get why he's not responding to any of my emails or hasn't shipped it for that matter..

The last thing he told me was """ Vanson had reset the jacket to be pattern adjusted at the 44 custom as we discussed, but they were still awaiting the leather for the run to come in, as some of the last batch of hides wasn't up to their standards. I just asked for another update on the status yesterday and should be getting back the current info by tomorrow. I'll shoot you the status as soon as I have it.""

That was almost 3 months ago and Vanson knew nothing about a bad batch of hides.... So at this point I'm confused and I'm getting upset. My biggest concern is I've moved and I have no idea if hes getting my emails with my new address or if hes ignoring me. I wanna order an X3 but after this whole ordeal I'm not so sure :/

I understand he has a day job and it takes up a lot of his time. I just think that it's still important to give your paying customer base updates when you promise them and not leave them hanging like this. Especially when you the customer have pertinent information for them.

It fits good, it is hard to take on and off though because of how tight the cuff is with my watch on, but they can be unzipped. I got a medium size. What color is the leather in your sleeves? Mine is dark brown like the base color, which is fine, because to my knowledge you never see Wolverine's sleeve gussets unzipped in X-Men Origins- Wolverine. Although, he rocks that look in X-1, X-2, and X-3.

Looking sharp. How's the chest? I know you needed custom sizing with a smaller chest. The pic with it unzipped look nice, like there is not a lot of extra room up there. when zipped up how does it fit?
