Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

Re: Ebay Wolverine jackets any good?

On the zipout liner... as the jacket realxes you will start seeing the zipout zipper indents on the jacket. As suggested your standard lining should be a plain black non-zipout type.

Right, thats exactly what I was worried about, as one of my jackets inner pockets has started to show through to the exterior of the jacket over time. I'd hate for the zipper to show through in the same way on my X2 when I dont even need the zip out liner to begin with.

I'd be very excited to see those changes and get my new jacket made!

If the above mentioned changes were made, I would also order a jacket tomorrow. I just asked the gf what she thought of it and she said "the same thing I did the last 50 times you've asked me...I like it". They all look the same to her :rolleyes Seriously, I really really want one of these but only if the above changes were to happen. Is that possible?? :)

Re: Ebay Wolverine jackets any good?

Dan,
Did you update your X2 pattern to match up with Bate's chocolate brown? As that is the only thing keeping me from wanting one of your X2's.
But good point on the jacket dimensions. I still think the sleeves are too long on the model though. Maybe it's the fact that he's bending and slightly raising his arms though?

I also need to mention the way the leather is folded in and stitched and the wrist cuff is really an eyesore.. The cuff fold doesn't need to be that long after its stitched.

Re: Ebay Wolverine jackets any good?

Dan, if you did what Tony mentioned above, I'd totally get one of yours.

Good eye. Check out how small the cuff stitching is on the original Bates jacket.

Re: Ebay Wolverine jackets any good?

Drool & comonbub- The pattern has nothing to do with leather color... I can make it whatever color you want. My Dark Brown is pretty dang close to the chocolate Bates has... and I guaranty after distressing the two would be interchangeable.
And about my distressed version I showed earlier, I have had someone who was there during filming and wore the original and my version state mine looked and fit exactly like what they used on set...except that my jacket was definitely heavier in weight. Frankly, that makes me beyond satisfied with how my X2 came out. :)

Re: Ebay Wolverine jackets any good?

Here is shot of me From SDCC aside from the pointed shoulders and the wrist cuffs i love my jacket.

Re: Ebay Wolverine jackets any good?

I didn't mean the physical pattern, but the specifics that go into putting the X2 together.
Dan, does Vanson carry a similar chocolate brown with a red undertone? Didn't you hand darken the one in your photos?

BTW, Bowelrock, I think aside from mentioned shoulder issue( that you could train like I did to lay down) looks fringgin' fantastic. You got the claws, hair, and chops! So jealous about those chops...

If you don't want to wet the whole jacket to mold to your contours like your sleeves(elbow area) you can wet the shoulder area only and hang it on the back of a chair and hand mold it, until the leather softens up and stays down. My vintage Brooks jacket is the same way, and it's a standard 38. So it's not Heron's fault per se, but a general cut, as this one calls for longer shoulders for the seam to lay flat.

Re: Ebay Wolverine jackets any good?

Hi guys

I think most prefer these changes:

- The mustard suede instead of the distressed suede
- shorter sleeves
- black liner (not zip out)

if the most people prefer these change, it will be the final version of the x-2 jacket, if somebody think diferent speak now or forever hold your peace :lol

Jeggs, the seam inside the cuff too where it's been stitched back. Someone mentioned it needs to be shorter as well.

Re: Ebay Wolverine jackets any good?

somebody can get some pics? showing inside the cuff to can make the right changes

Re: Ebay Wolverine jackets any good?

Hi everyone - I LOVE this thread!

I'm in the market for an X2 jacket and, for me, there's only one vendor - Magnoli. Does anybody here have one of these? They look beautiful and everyone I've heard who has anything from Indy almost cries when they talk about it. Cries in a good way :)

I'm currently saving for this thing and would love to see someone wearing one.

Thanks guys, you all look awesome in your Wolvie threads, especially superDrool!

For the same money (or less) I would go with Dan at Logan's Closet. There is more than likely a wait involved, but having seen his X2 first hand, when I do get an X2 it will be his distressed version. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of Mags stuff but I would look elsewhere for a Wolverine. Just my 2¢…

Re: Ebay Wolverine jackets any good?

I can't seem to see the X2 in Logan's Closet - I think my mind is made up for the Indy Magnoli jacket, nothing against THEMAN I just saw the Magnoli stuff first and it was like a baby animal seeing it's mother for the first time :)

SPOILER ALERT FOR BELOW.

Did anyone notice what jacket Wolverine wore in... that other movie he appeared in recently...??

Re: Ebay Wolverine jackets any good?

My bad - my pal just reminded me that he wasn't wearing one in that scene!

Carry on...
