Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

Do you mind me asking you where you bought them? I saw them on the Wolverine site, but I would rather buy them in a store, because I would like to try them on.
No problem, I bought them at Coastal Farm and Ranch Supply. It's a Pacific Northwest chain of supply stores so am not sure if they would be in your area but there may be a similar type of establishment near you if you are in a rural location.

I sent wolverinejackets.com a message and left my email on their Contact Us page asking if they could make the X-1 jacket. I haven't gotten a response yet, so it's nice that I know now that the X-1 is in the works. Also, I submitted that message on November the 29, so it's been about 5 days ago. Is there a better way to contract them instead of using the Contact Us page?

I only used the direct email to contact them at wolverinejacket@gmail.com

I'm not sure on the actual thickens. But I have pics of me in 3 different jackets. I have just weighted myself in all three just now. here is what I got in weights

Starting weight 188.5 lbs

Fashion jacket thinner leather weight 191.6 lbs (1st attempt at wolverine a few years ago)

Wolverine Jacket weight 193.1 lbs

Biker Jacket weight 194.1 lbs

For a better comparison I can take new photos in the same position in all three and post them so you can see the difference in how they fit and lay on the body if you like.

Hey guys I just wanted to let you all know that I started an interest thread in the JY about making some Wolverine bone claws and Sabertooth claws/nails. So go check it out if you are interested. I would post a link but I am not allowed to. ;)

By these pics I would say it rules out the "outlaws" I would lean farther toward the raiders though...adding the grainy pics in...the boot is definitely a "wolverine" brand...and looks more like the "raiders" than not the raiders..... but that's jmo

It's the Raiders. I spent a few hours analyzing set photos and the ones from his interview. They are the lowtops as seen in the photos I first posted. If you watch the set interview, you can clearly see his boots are lowtops. Also, the patch work on the boots is also consistent with Wolverine boots. I have looked at all knockoffs and name brand boots and they look nothing like it. Trust me, guys, I'm right about this one.:thumbsup Wolverines for The Wolverine...Seems legit.

Darth, link please? If you make them like the Origins ones, I think I'll be sold.

I can concur from what photos I have seen. Either way, I have a set in the mail, hahaha.

I'm sure someone else can chime in with a proper answer because I'm not sure on the actual practical difference between each. There's definitely a difference when the jacket is being worn. If you look through this thread and see for example pictures of Dan wearing his X-3 which has curved sleeves, the curve is quite prominent as opposed to the X-1 which has the straight sleeves. For me personally, it's a matter of preference, I like the look of straight sleeves, the fit of straight sleeves, and curved sleeves always remind me of a bulky biker jacket that should have armor. But to say it wont be curved when you wear it is wrong, the curve is definitely noticeable when being worn.

Just to correct you on this one comedian, the only X-jacket that has "straight sleeves" is the Origins. All the rest have articulated sleeves to make riding motorcycles easier. If you're going for the SA look on the X1, then you want to go with the articulated sleeves.

I am also under the impression that the X1 has strait sleeve s and not curved.... Could you provide any movie photos of Hugh that support your clams of curved sleeves?

Yeah the sleeves on the screen used jacket always looked straight to me, on screen as well as the pictures Rick on FJ posted. Learn somethin new everyday I guess lol

Does anyone know the thickness of the new X-1 Heron biker jacket and the Logan's Closet X-1? Just wanting to compare the thickness of both the X-1's.

It's the way he's got the jacket hanging sloppy. The sleeves will naturally sit in articulation if you put it on a hanger. Even the prototype with the red stripes by Vanson does it hanging up.

Hey everyone, I wonder if some folks in the know could give me some up to date info on Heron.

I was in contact with Miguel from Heron about a year ago, in pursuit of an X2 jacket. After going back and for discussing options communication fizzled out between us.

I recently tried to re-initiate contact via email, but I haven't heard back. Does anyone know if he still works there, or who is best to contact now.

Also, does anyone know what modifications have been made to their X2 jacket in the last year, if any?

I have this pic of the X1 jacket from a screen used prop seller:

Looks like straight sleeves to me but I am no jacket expert.

Hey guys. I took some rubbing alcohol to the inside jacket pocket of my vanson today. A small amount on a cotton ball just to test the effect. It looks exactly the same. Did I not use enough? Did the cotton ball dilute it too much? Just want the shiny topcoat to disappear so it doesn't look so fresh and clean

Hi just bought a brass belt buckle off ebay I've got acrylic paints to paint it. Just have one question did anyone use primer before painting it?

Vanson's finish is incredibly durable, you will have to soak a cloth in rubbing alchohol and scrub like mad to see any change. I use acetone, but be careful, wear rubber gloves, stay away from sparks or open flames, and use in a well ventilated area. Remember to test on a small area like you have done already and let it dry to see the effect.

More than likely it is only brass plated. I've used primer before, it works well and can also stand in for the brown of the face if you want. I would soak the buckle in alcohol or vinegar for a few hours to remove any oils and provide a slight roughening for the paint to adhere to.
