Wolf mask, Completed !

Sounds good mate, just be sure the small pinhole isn't hiding a larger airbubble behind it, happened to me before on a jason mask sculpt i did, tiny hole, when i pressed around it i ended up with a crater!, lucky it was in an inconspicous area.
Can't wait to see the first one out and painted

All the little bits have been filled, i dont think im going to bother with the tiddly tiny itsy bitsy pin holes, theres only a few , and i mean no ones face is flawless, a few spots is the last thing wolf should worry about hehe.

gonna leave plaster to dry for a few hrs, then ill do a cleaning pull on the front.

What the **** is the delay here Lee? Chop chop already!!! Quit stalling!!!!!

BTW - can't wait to see how the first pull turns out...

Well as ****** always i seem to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

IM NOT getting defeatist, im just totally pissed off with wolf now, i took so so soooo much time molding him , being careful with everything, and making the mold.

Ive found in total 12 bubbles/holes, all have been fixed as none were on details, WTF you moaning about then i hear you say.

Well the 12th and final hole is inside his good lower mandible and its about 1cm x1cm which is ****** huge for the area it resides in.

i can barely see it with a small mirror, but knew it was there because the cleaning pull and gone into it, which acted as a anchor, ripping the lower mandible in half when i took it out this morning.

After some poking with a peice of wire, i managed to break away all the thin plaster ( which made it slightly visible ) my 1st thought was to fetch my hammer, only the fact that my good wife , gave me a bollocking stopped me tbh.

Its IMPOSSIBLE to get any sort of tool inside to push in some fresh plaster.

My wife however came up with this.

using a more watery than normal mix, and wedging the mold on its side, hopefully as its watery it will find its own level and blend into the shape of the inner cheak.
this is TOTALLY my wifes idea, i would have given in , so take no credit for this if it works.

IF it doesnt then **** it !

the reason im posting this is incase the idea above helps anyone out.

I put my heart and soul into this sculpt and tbh at the moment feel like jacking this sculpting lark in. Dont mean to sound mellow dramatic, its just the way im feeling.

NOR do i want any sympathy. as obviously its my own fault. I wish i had more experience/ability to try what Ruffkin suggested.

just posting the facts, plain and simple.

damn man, this sucks major. But if there is someone i know who can manage to fix something, its you dude. Don't get down, just kick this things ass and make it your bitch, lol. You can do it dude!

KEITH

OH btw if it does work, you all have the right to kick the **** out of me verbally.

for

A, being a useless wanker and ******* it up in the 1st place ,

and

B, Getting worked up and pissed of with it.

In the immortal words of Corporal Fraser from Dads Army " Don't Panic". Take a break from it and do something else while you have time to think of ways to remedy the problem. For ****** sake don't wreck the mould. Syringe idea seems pretty good to me. Good luck.

Bugger bugger and double bugger. It's a pain mate but not unfixable. If I can patch my batcowl mold with a good 2 inch hole air pocket you should be able to patch this. Not too sure about maijng the mix too watery...When patching a mold I tend to do the opposite as the more gelled the plaster the more you can sculpt and shape it.....you could patch it with wet clay mate....and do what we discussed when you were thinking of a resin bust....this would be a safety pull....then once you've gotten that patch the mold and try another normal pull....This method does work as I did it woth a mold that i though was beyond salvaging...If you need any thing mate PM me and we'll talk.

Molding things will always be a pain in the arse, as there are so many things that can go belly up...Not dishing out sympathy but facts....even the best mold makers mae mistakes and have to patch stuff....Just look in the AVP2 making of book and they are still patching pulls from molds in there, so you're in good comapny.

Heres a quick pic to try explain.

the yellow line is where i cut off the mandible, ( as there was a line there it seemed logical to cut it there )

The BLUE is roughly where the hole is on the INSIDE of the cheak, as you can see, part is on the lower mandible, but the majority is on the inside of the cheak, the cheaks are not overly thick, so the gap is 5mm maybe down there, which is why its impossible to get to.

the ONLY redeeming factor is theres no holes on the outer detailed part.]

hope this explains abit better what i mean by being ****** lol.

Ive calmed down abit now btw.

The skin flap of the jaw is where the most hole is .

Sorry if i didnt explain it correctly, the main part of the hole is on the INSIDE of the skin flap, so no skin detail will be lost as there wasnt any on the inside anyway.

no tools will go down there as its curved in sort of a S shape. try gettin a tool down a S shape that approx 5mm thick with plaster on .

anyway we tried the straw method earlier, and fingers crossed i got most of it, like you said i can patch the latex if needed.

I suppose im just venting at myself, and what better place to rant, than where i got the inspiration to start these things hehe, actually its ALL your fault members of the lair for making me try stuff like this

Balls to it, tomorrow ill pour a whole mask, and leave it dry for a long long time, to make sure it doesnt rip, then i can see if i need to try patch it again.

Ah, crap sorry this has happened bud, hope the syringe idea works, don't know what to suggest without seeing the mould itself, sounds like a really awkward fix.

Do you still have the cleaning pull? If so I would be interested in seeing pics of it, if the next one doesn't turn out let me know. As it stands the damage on the cleaning pull looks exactly what I need for my next Pred idea! if you are not happy with the next one I may still be interested in it.

NO i dont have it as it was only the front half of mask and a thin coat of latex.

NO i dont have any pics

AND NO i will no be selling any damaged pulls

Ok no harm in asking. I really hope that the syrynge works. If possible try and find one of the syringes that they give you when you have your widom teeth pulled they have a curved tip that might fit. If it doesn't you can flatten it a bit.
