Looks awesome man, I'm having a crack at Arkham Knight modelling myself (general 3D, not pep) as a beginner - keep it up. Theres something about the angular design of him that is quite nice for beginners I think.

Thanks... was just looking at your thread, can't wait to see it done. I don't have access to a 3D printer so that's why I've opted for the pep route... also I think modeling for 3D printing is a bit more intricate than for pep .

I agree with you on the angular design... I'm finding this model easier than my first Iron Man helmet attempt.

Looking foward to seeing your progress.

Not much progress made... was away on a fishing trip this weekend, but did manage to start playing around with the jaw details and get the ears positioned a bit better. Sorry again for the poor pic quality, I'll post a Blender screen shot a bit later.

Most of the finer details on the jaw probably won't be ideal for peping so I'll remove them for the pep conversion and make an alternate plan for the detailing.

And thanks to Murderink's help with the shots of the back, hope to start tackling the back end tonight.

Again, any input / thoughts are welcome...

Ah ok excellent. When I've got to a point I've test printed a few parts, and depending on whether you want/like the end results, I'd be up for swapping some files etc if you were up for it. No worries if you arent and are planning on a build/run of this at any point. Here is the gauntlet at the moment, though I am working on it still - I think I may want to simplify/redo some areas anyway to try to improve the connection between the parts (so far a lot are separated out and spaced apart slightly)

Not that I'm trying to steal your thread! Loving the look of the helmet man.

Some of that finer detail on the jaw you mentioned may be perfect for printing, and then attaching to a pep build.

Almost forgot, reference for gauntlet.

No problem... My plan was to complete the model, do the unfold in pepakura and then obviously the build itself. If it comes out half decent and there's interest in the file, then make it available to whoever wants it.

This project is more about learning the modeling side than anything else.

You'll have to do alot of rework on my file... due to "noob" errors when modeling and also because I'm creating the file with pepakura in mind. Other than that, I'd be glad to see something I've worked on ( even partially ) being printed in 3D.

Don't worry about posting on my thread... I've no issues with that.

I'll post some progress pics a little later... got started on the back and did some changes to the ears today.

Update :

I've started on the back end... still needs some work, but getting there.

I've also removed the finer details on the jaw ( I'll leave that for Fawbish ), my fingers are too thick and clumsy to pep small parts... so like I said I'll be making another plan for the finer bits.

Maybe modelling the parts separately and see from there.

Anyhow... Here's where I'm at with the jaw.

Sounds great - and my models will also have a ton of noob problems too, don't worry, I'm just starting out too. I'm sure it'll be great!

Wow this looks fantastic, i'm definitely going to follow this thread. I wanting to build a helmet really bad but i'm just waiting for some pep files to come out, i dont know if i have the skill/time/patience to try modelling it myself.

Keep up the awesome work !

Really impressive work! With all my supports. I will follow this thread closely (from France :). And eager to build it.

Thanks... working on it right now....
It's one of those nights where everything just looks wrong. The top of the head has been messing with my head for the last 3 hours. Really keen on getting this to the unfold stage. I'll hopefully have some decent progress pics posted tomorrow night.

Thanks for the support.
