I had access to real components and took measurements whenever I needed them. I modeled each part individually and then combined them into more major chunks. The whole thing is printed in 11 parts. Certain bits of detail and measurements needed to be adjusted in order to allow for this scale. The cradle for example prints incredibly thin at this size and would warp so it was thickened very slightly while still allowing the model to be repositionable.
I knew that in all likelihood I would be asked to mass produce these once word got out around the different units so ease of printing was a tiny bit more important. I wasn't able to finish this one as cleanly as i would have liked due to time constraints but i'm the only one who has noticed honestly. The 1/3rd will just be for me and I have a good long list of wishes for it. Cant wait to dig back into the files.

Have you ever thought of not casting it in concrete and just painting it and displaying it that way? I'm not sure how a painted PLA object will withstand the harsh conditions.
With harsh british winters it doesn't stand up well at all. I have a fertility idol out amongst the flowers and it didnt do well.Have you ever thought of not casting it in concrete and just painting it and displaying it that way? You beat me to it! I got the same file from CGTrader but I’m doing a milled aluminum version of the 241. If you were able to split the other 8 parts into separate files, I’d love to chat with youWeaving another week of printing in the fabric of this hobby...thanks Julian on CGTrader, great file - also reminds me I have to go back a week and adjust my first layer again on my printer, if I want to follow the tenets of checking your settings after changing filament

Not sure how long but its probably because Star Wars, Marvel, and DC have their own sections you can post stuff in.Since when has this thread prohibited Star Wars, Marvel, and DC stuff? And why?
Absolutely LOVE this idea!Grail tablet. 3D printes in 4 parts.
I'm considering molding this when its done and casting in concrete to put one out in the garden.
You're equipment is only slightly more advanced than mine. The home work bench. Watchmaking...
