Re: What's on your workbench?

Man that is Money ! he does nice work is he still making them??

Is it static ? is that a base you made for it?

I don't know if he has anymore of them. You would have to PM him and see. I know he just made some AA12 shotgun replicas.

Yes, it's a static prop. I made the display from RaceDeck simulated diamond plate.

Next project...

Battlestar Galactica TOS Colonial Warrior Blaster

Re: What's on your workbench?

A model instead of a prop, but I'm putting the last touches on this Pegasus Tripod.

Robert:)

That thing is a monster. I didn't like that movie but that model looks good. I have 2 P90s, 1 famas, a snub nose Lawgiver, a halo magnum, a halo SMG, my 2012 Mario Bros Stomper boots and some little odds and ends to work on.

Don't know if this counts as a prop but it needs a serious fixing. But hey new they cost 500 dollars and I got this one for 25 so it's still hella cheap!

Plus the motor still works so that's not the problem! the body of the car just needs a lot of work (dents, scratches, broken of parts) and the seat needs new support but I think I can bondo it out ;)

Re: What's on your workbench?

Volpin, that wouldn't work because I'm to big to fit in it. :confused

If I hook it up to haul azz with a killer go-cart, I want to ride in it.. :love

I would also go for a James Bond theme..

Re: What's on your workbench?

I don't have kids, so I would hollow that little thing out and put it over a screaming go-kart chassis in a heartbeat. SO COOL!

I almost like the "patina" on it - like someone found it in a barn.

Hehehe if I could fit in it I'd be doing that as we speak!

Yeah I like the patina look too when I saw it in the store but when I'm done with this baby it's gonna look brand new!
Other people that wanted to buy it (it was a first come first serve one day deal on old toys) didn't like my idea of making it like new again and said I should leave it but I won't do that, I want the kid that rides this classic to have a shiney new tricked out oldtimer!

One day when I get more skilled at building plastic objects I'm going to make this large enough for me to sit in... And then it's pedal to the metal!

Awesome! That's actually what I first thought when I saw it! I don't think James Bond ever drove an SL300 but i think it would suit his tastes quite well. I looked under the body and it seems really mod friendly. Electrics is kept simple, options to include working headlights are there and I bet I can add some bb machine guns somewhere ;) An oldtimer electric ride on toy with James Bond gadgets in it! Sounds crazy enough to be a project of mine! :D

Suggestions for more gadgets are always welcome btw ;)

Re: What's on your workbench?

I'm getting ready to start building a Fallout 3 Mini Nuke. This will be my first prop (if you don't count the signs and angry birds I made for a Halloween skit at work). My plan is to make a pepakura version for a reference piece and make the actual prop out of bondo covered foam and some sort of plastic for the fin section. From there I can make molds in case I want to make copies for others. I figure this will be a good way to start learning some of the basic skills I'll need to build bigger and better items in the future. If there is any interest I could even try to make a WIP thread (which will also help get me up to 20 posts).
