What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

Re: What's on your workbench?

A model instead of a prop, but I'm putting the last touches on this Pegasus Tripod.

Wow That looks killer . I am not a model guy but can I ask how I can get one?

Love the movie .

Re: What's on your workbench?

oh I have been keeping an eye on that build.looking fantastic.hope I can do half as well as your's . especially in the painting part...

Thank you. Just don't rush the paint. Prime it, sand, wet sand, prime, sand, wet sand, and then polish it (just vigorously rubbing it down with a cloth or paper towel works). Then airbrush on the colors in light, even coats. If you don't have an airbrush and are using spray cans, just lightly mist on the first coat from 4 - 8 inches away, let it dry, then spray on light coats in short bursts, allowing about 10 or so minutes between coats. Then don't even breathe on it for 24 hours while it cures.

Takes practice, and humidity and temperature can do all sorts of unexpected things, so be patient. I've had to sand down and start over projects many times because of that.

P.S. Finished up my Star Trek Phaser display today.. Still have some minor painting to do on the phasers to finish them up.

Re: What's on your workbench?

Is that a Kelvin phaser on top? Any plans in adding a ST TMP/TWOK phaser?

Yes, Kelvin phaser on top. I'm not a fan of the TMP/TWOK versions. I'm not sure what they were thinking there with the design. I will be adding the ST:Enterprise phase pistol. I'll have to build another box. This one was made from spare stuff I had leftover from another box build.
