What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

Very cool! You're making that yourself? Can you share any templates you're using, or good reference materials? I'd love to try my hand at that.

Wow nothing I have planned can even compete with this stuff. MOst of my stuff is action figures and this RPF blaster i got on here.

Once i figure out how i want to finish my one custom design i'll have more to do.

Re: What's on your workbench?

Wow, the sword looks tight! Are those sticker letters of some sort?

Pretty much, yeah. I had a local vinyl shop laser-cut the lettering, which was adhered to the mold master before making a mold of it. The letters come out in resin crisp and clean. I got the idea from some of the scale modelers on the board here and how they do simulated paneling on some of their ship builds.

Re: What's on your workbench?

I have quite a few projects on my bench right now, but no pictures worth posting. When I make more progress, photos will be posted.

I have a Star Trek TNG playmates mod that I am working on. Screen accurate paint, modified nozzle, custom sculpting on the underside of the nozzle(though its not really accurate, but better than what there was), and also some custom accents. Just need to glue the buttons on and its done.

I'm working on a custom Green Ranger power coin as well. It'll be fused with a regular toy power coin that way it is morpher functional. I'm also going to revamp the white ranger coin I made years ago.

I found a pepakura file for a Green Ranger helmet, and it has been assembled and has the fiberglass resin applied. I am in the process of extending the helmet though, since it is a tad bit too short. It will need a -ton- of work, but I'm looking forward to it.

I'm working on a Boba Fett pepakura helmet as well. Bit more complicated than the ranger helmet, but I will be starting the assembly soon.

And last but not least, still in the planning stages of customizing the 12 inch talking Chip Hazard and Archer figures from small soldiers.

All of these projects are pretty neat, in my opinion. I've been stuck on some that after a while I just get tired of looking at, but these go pretty smoothly and I feel good working on them.

Re: What's on your workbench?

I'm new to all of this so I decided to start small. I made a replica of Jayne's knife from Firefly out of wood for the Jayne costume that I've been working on. I'm also almost done putting together a Wilco Model of Jayne LeMat pistol (Just need to clear coat it) and I made a dagger, also out of wood, for my wife's Fiona (Burn Notice) costume. It was more fun than I thought it would be and they turned out pretty nice for my first try at this kind of thing. The one thing I've learned from this is that I need to buy a Dremel!

P.S. Since I couldn't get the image insert to work, I'm attaching the photos.

It was a real fun project to work on

What's on my work bench now: creating a cellphone that looks advanced, but something that could have existed in 2001 (for a short film). No pictures or design sketches, just going off what I have pictured in my head.

Also, still trying to come up with some additional stuff for my art direction portfolio.

Re: What's on your workbench?

Inspired by Slothfurnace reveal saber, I tried to make one of my own. It's far from finished. Still needs a lot of work. Aqua Aura crystal is on it's way. But it's a nice start.
I will use some LED's to lighting the crystal but no soundboard though. I'm not that good with electronics.
