What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

On my workbench, CNC-cut Ironman parts for my first all-digital build:

The 3D printed detail parts are on shelves by the printer inside.

Re: What's on your workbench?

In addition to the Ironman build, upgrades to a couple of my Space Marines, a big project that I'm not ready to write about yet, and three suits of Halo armor in progress, I've also encased a friend of mine in carbonite:

I'm really looking forward to getting this thing out of my workshop. It takes up a lot more space than I'd like and I've got other things to do with the room.

That's Jenny in carbonite. She wanted a liquor cabinet and figured this would be the coolest thing a star wars nerd could ever want. I think it's a bit creepy and narcissistic, but it's her project and I'm just coaching her through the whole thing. I'll be writing up the build process in my blog, but for right now you can see progress pics in this flickr set: Jen in Carbonite - a set on Flickr

Re: What's on your workbench?

Re: What's on your workbench?

I used to do some Robotech stuff, but I am pretty over it these days. I am thinking of doing a Mass Effect Armor using he foam technique.

I need to fix and clean some details on the casting

Love that workbench Bradleyfett!! Actually I am getting distracted by all the stuff on the upper shelf! Do you have a collection of pics showing those goodies off? I'd LOVE to see it and anything else you may have!

I've got a bunch of flickr albums- what specifically do you want to see?

Same thing as I had last time I think I posted on this thread and same thing I've had for past 16 months, my fett helmet build.

Might actually finish it this year...

Re: What's on your workbench?

Don't suppose you have a 'step-by-step' thread dedicated to this project, eh?

:popcorn

No, but I've been taking photos as I've gone along, I may when I have a finished project to share. I was preparing the octo-ports today after building the 4 body vents over the weekend.

I've been using the styrene plans from the R2 club adjusting for scale and material thickness. This build thread was my inspiration

Yesterday I decided I didn't have enough going on, so I dusted off my prototype for the Helghast rifle from Killzone:

Then I did a tiny bit of tinkering with it before I poured a bunch of silicone on top of it:

I'm also doing a bit of repair work to one of the Space Marines that's been abused:

Once I've straightened out the bottom of the ribs, it'll be reinforced with fiberglass in order to make sure this problem doesn't come up again. While I'm at it, I'm also cranking out a new helmet to go with this suit:

I've got my Ironman helmet very nearly smooth enough to make me feel okay about molding it:

And today I dyed a new batch of Halo helmet faceshields:

Tomorrow I hope to do some soldering, sculpting, sewing, and silicone mixing. It'll be a full day.
