What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

Here's my latest project. I just got the Roman's No.3 body back today from a machinist who drilled the hole out to 1.0 inch diameter. Just got done cutting it in half. Here's my QA inspector verifying my work:

I've always thought that the vane would probably be a cooling fan of some sort, so I used a precision ball bearing to allow it to spin. I'm not talented enough to motorize it.

Behind the clear gem is a 5 watt Luxeon LED, so batteries are not an option. The whole thing will be mounted on a stand with a base to house the 2 amp power supply and other lighting electronics. I have a couple of more months of work before I'll be done with this project.

Nice. But maybe you'll need a cooling fan for that 5 watt LED. ;)
I think your project deserves a thread of its own.

Here's what's on my workbench. Getting ready for a group project of these...

The one on the right is sitting in RTV right now...

Sadly, my mark vi kit is still on my bench. I did get the scanner finished though. Just need the graphics and the electronics put in, and I'm done!

This week's update from one of the thorssoli workbenches:

Casting035.jpg

Here we can see my bolter molds, the first castings to come out of them, and a handful of helmets that I'm selling on ebay. Also, my legoman head that is seeing some progress (until I dropped it and cracked the top) and my imperial guard helmet that I've repainted. Wedged in there are a bunch of my TIE fighter helmet lenses, a bunch of small tools, and way on the right side of the frame is the engine for my tank:

This thread was really interesting for a while there.

Also on the way is a new Boba Jetpack for a friend of mine that will be painted.

Re: What's on your workbench?

Well, I can't really say this is ON the workbench, more like it IS the workbench. I have been chipping away at this over the past few months and tried it out this weekend. Rather than make a custom cart and frame, I just used a heavy duty shelving unit as the base for this lil' plastic cooker.

Re: What's on your workbench?

I thought I would bring this thread back from the deep. Lets see what folks are currently working on.
It is strange... my need of workspace, and "in progress" stuff keep growing but very little comes out the other side finished so far.:rolleyes
