There are the projects on my workbench right now. All Star Wars projects. From the left:
1. I'm making a wall rack to display my lightsaber collection. These are two of fourteen acrylic hooks, cut from a store display I found in a ditch. :lol
2. A Plantronics M114 headset I am converting to Obi-Wan's piloting headset from Revenge of the Sith. One of seven headsets I am making - all with headphone and microphone intact and functioning. The M114's boom is not 100% accurate, but you can accurize it a great deal by only filing away plastic. Next I will add some bulk to the boom.
3. I found a small MP3 player in a dumpster with a broken headphone connector. I transplanted this into a Gillette razor to make it into a Jedi communicator (Visual Dictionary version). I figured I could use it to have fake conversations with it whilst in costume, role-playing at conventions. The holes in the grip are for the built-in speaker. The two metal/black things are connectors for headphones and line-in.
However, once I had done all the work of inserting the player into the cramped space of the razor and soldered on the headphone connectors, I found out that sound output was busted also in the circuits.. It can record with its built-in microphone, manage songs, even record songs from the radio.. but not playback. :cry
4. A couple of years ago, I sculpted and cast Jedi pouches out of latex. I found out recently that I could use the same plaster mold for wetforming leather. The lighter portions of it are bleached. However, I need to make a new mold for the lid.
