What's inside the MF at Galxies Edge?

So I'm not talking about the ride, I mean what's inside the Millennium Falcon set that sits outside for people to pose with? Does the ramp actually lead anywhere? Is there stuff inside? Inquiring geeks want to know.

I’ve been so curious about this as well. I feel like it’s similar to Cinderella’s Castle where there is some sort of hidden room, but it’s not accessible to the general public. Hoping there is something though

no idea what's up there, but we do know that the cockpit is accessible because chewie was up there at Disneyland's opening event. I'd be interested to see what it looks like up the boarding ramp!

Probably another basketball court.

When I was there I tried getting a good look up the ramp. It looked like there was a 2d backdrop of a false hallway at the top. joez2391 is right, though...they obviously can get people in the cockpit for special events. I'd love to see the view of Batuu from there.

When you see the Falcon from the outside, that's not the one you ride in. The ride is a totally separate set, and as far as I'm aware it just has a few Falcon corridors, the main hold (where the chess board is) you can sit around in for a while, then you follow the corridors to the cockpit.

When you're looking at it from the outside, it's a completely different build. For one thing it's too small. Like the original movie sets, it's not full size. It's more like 90 - 95% what it should be. You can tell in the Empire Strikes Back when you see Chewie in the cockpit on Hoth. When you look at him from the outside he's just way too big for that cockpit. Likewise there's videos on youtube where Chewie can be seen in the cockpit at Galaxy's Edge events, and it's just the same. You can see he's just way too big. And if you know the details of the inside well enough you can tell by the lights that there's something wrong with the scale in there.

In short the exterior set and the interior sets are two totally separate sets. It has to be this way since technically what you see on screen is an impossible object. There's no way that you can make the two things match, even if you altered the exterior set to be as big as it should be.

Why exactly can't it match? Would the interiors be too big to fit inside the ship?

Yes. I'm totally aware of all those things already. My question still stands, what's inside?

Looks like he failed to read that you understood that they are two different things.

OddballFett... he knows that the ride is separate, and he was asking if anyone knows what is in the model falcon outside. Is it empty? Is there hidden gems for executives? Is there an office? An apartment? Storage? Nobody seems to know and he was inquiring if anyone had a clue.

I imagine that inside it probably leads to one of the underground passages that go around beneath the park. There's probably some stairs, or maybe an elevator or something, inside of the Falcon that leads down into the passages. Like has been mentioned, we've seen people inside the cockpit, but they don't go in through the ramp to get there, so there has to be a way to get into the Falcon from the "other side". Most likely they get in through it via these passages.

That would be cool but only Magic Kingdom has the underground corridors.

As Don93 noted, only the Magic Kingdom have tunnels. Trust me with that... I worked at MGM Studios Park (Hollywood Studios today) for many years back in the 1990’s and knew that place inside and out.

The contents of the Disney Vault are most likely now what is inside the Falcon...”Song of the South”, the original cut of “Steamboat Willie”, the original cut of “Rogue One”, Walt Disney’s frozen head, the unaltered versions of the “Star Wars Trilogy”, etc.

I found out that a guy who lived across from me in our college Freshman dorms is now the Executive Creative Director at Disney Imagineering and he oversaw for the Galaxy’s Edge expansion. We are friends on Facebook, so maybe I can reach out and ask him for some details.

Only Chewie knows...

It's mostly just the shape. If you look at any official blueprints they don't match what's on screen. There's been a number of different versions, but they all have to compromise to make it all fit. For instance in the movie the gun well ladder is directly across from the corridor that leads to the cockpit. But you won't see that on any blueprints because otherwise the ladder won't fit under the guns properly. The angle of the main hold as it comes off the main corridor is often more extreme than it is on film. Plus the corridor that leads to the cockpit is flat and level with the rest of the corridors. But we can see from looking at the outside of the ship that it would need to have a couple of steps or slope upwards.

None of this is really obvious when watching the movie. But if you wanted to try to make your own deckplans you'd always be forced to make a compromise somewhere to make anything work.
