What was the last movie that really stuck with you?

I was curious about Mark Webb for the Spider-man reboot. So I watched 500 Days of Summer. Honestly, it was one of the best movies I've seen. Everything about the movie was great from the story, to the acting, to the realism. I watched it late at night, then went to bed and decided to watch it again in the morning. I got the soundtrack to it later that day and have been listening to it on my commute to work/home.

I don't even remember the last movie I saw where I loved it that much. Dark Knight was probably close, but I didn't feel the need to watch it again 12 hours later.

I was drawn right at the start when the narrator announced that "this is a story about boy meets girl. But you should know up front that this is not a love story".

In the Valley of Elah.

And I just watched Wings of Desire again.

Wim Wenders = :thumbsup

It might sound cliche...

But Star Trek II has and always will be that one movie that has stuck with me.

That and Revenge of the Ninja- which I have on right now.

I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, but I absolutely loved everything about this movie

truly something different, despite it's budgetary limitations

I totally agree with you about 500 days of summer..It was a remarkable film..One of the best films I seen this year.

However, it reminded me way tooo much of my relationship with my ex haha..which made it a little bit depressing..We related way to much with the main characters..she even had the same exes names in high school..freaky stuff.

I'll turn 35 this fall and I'm starting to feel old because I've been thinking "They don't make 'em like they used to". Especially when it comes to movies.

There have been a lot of movies that have "stuck" with me, but for years, the movies coming out seem to be fresh interpretations (remakes or "rip offs") of stories that have been shown on screen before.

Here's some of the more recent ones off the top of my head that I think of (regardless of what was stated above):

- Little Miss Sunshine
- Taken
- Law Abiding Citizen
- Twilight Samurai (not that recent of a film, but I finally saw it last month) - one of the BEST modern made, serious samurai films IMO

Doesn't sound cliche to me at all.
It would just be my number two. :)

When it comes to "all time favorites"...
Here's a quick top ten (after a few drinks):

1 - Conan The Barbarian
2 - TWOK
3 - SW (if you don't know which one :rolleyes)
4 - Highlander
5 - Robocop
6 - The Terminator
7 - Alien
8 - The Road Warrior
9 - Aliens
10 - Blade Runner

I think that's why I like the film so much :( It's so easy for poeple to relate to the characters. They're not so much characters since it most likely reminds them of their past relationships. Which makes me wonder why it took Hollywood this long to make something like this? I guess they just like the basic "Boy meets girl" structure?

I've enjoyed a bunch of recent films for various reasons, but the one that really had me thinking about it long after was Let the Right One In.

Stanley Kubricks, Paths of Glory (1957). An incredibly thought provoking film with an all-star cast that is absolutely stunning and it looks like it could have been shot yesterday.

Donnie Darko
:thumbsup
That movie stuck with me for months after I first saw it. Maybe it was just a weird time in my life but it really meant something to me for some reason.

Revolutionary Road really messed me up. When it was over I just sat there for a few minutes unable to move.

i think some stick with me for different reasons. Like the terrible movies that stuck with me

DUNE , anything Quentin T. does, ( esp that last crap two part movie thing he did) , Waterworld, Chariots of Fire, SW episode1-2 ( three was better) .

Then the good ones : Book of Eli , Surragate, Taken, Star Trek to name a very few.

Than there's ones i liked because my kids made me watch them 15 times , like Bridge to Teraithia. It was good for his age and after awhile I enjoyed the storyline.
