What does your Workshop/Workspace look like?

I run mine until failure mode, *then* I upgrade and get put on a waiting list. My Cupcake #235 (aka "Makerbot CNC"!) is in the basement storage, my mendelmaxes were torn down for parts, and I wait with baited breath for my new E3D Bigbox. I use 3d printers in my studio for prototypes then print/sell the real objects on Shapeways.

It's a bit of a mess... My power tool stuff happens in the garage, but this is my shop:

Well heres my cave of wonders where the magic happens. Well this believe it or not is when its tidy. Doesnt look like this at the moment.

I am most looking forward to finding all my small tools again. I am sure lots are in half built project boxes, so next week, as things start to be moved into the STUDIO!, I will have a great oppurtunity to organise everything. This is where I find I have 5 of everything!

If you are like me at all, I spend so much time trying to find the tool I need!! Drives me mad.

No more though...

Dito.... I would say at least as much time looking for tools as actually using them. I really should organise things. But you know what they say about messy people?

They make messes...... apparently.

My OCD kicks into full-on overdrive if I can't find my tools immediately. I have to know where my tools are located at all time.

Not to worry guys. The reason he looks like that is im in the middle of prepping him for a full respray. I first put him together in 2001 so thought its time for a nice tidy up. This is a piccy of the dash I made to house the all new electronics with dual touch screens and some pretty cool speech recognition software. Ive got a rally car to finish building then its full steam ahead on K.I.T.T.

And here he is in his prime a few years ago.

Spent the last few days ( works slow this time of the year ) on the studio shed. I feel pretentious using the term studio LOL.

Anyway spent today up a ladder bending backwards painting the ceiling and supporting trusses. I feel like I have been mugged now. Having a beer now and relaxing. Knackered. The LED tubes turned up today and last night a crap delivery company left my vinyl 4m x 5m floor covering, at a neighbours house about 400m away. So my son and I ( he is only 10) had to carry this awkward thing back to our house. It weighed over 100lbs and he struggled bless him but he dug deep and we got it into the shed. Gave the company I bought the lino from, a real roasting this morning. They better take the delivery charge off!!

Anyway...getting there. Hope to be in there early next week if all goes well.

More adventures soon.

Looks awesome!

Here's a shot of my new workshop... The pic is the one posted by the real estate agency since it's currently full of boxes and tools. The double-door closet is getting a bench installed for a small metalworking lathe while the closet next to it is getting 8 drawers installed. Above that, all storage for various things.

The opposite side of this is a wall with a window that gets good sunlight making this a very bright room during the day. Loving the energy here...

I still need to build the wraparound workbench, CNC router sound/dust box, shelving and hang up the lighting. Also have to put something on the floor to protect the flooring.

Here's the living room and off at the end, my 'green house' since it's glass-enclosed and I've put most of my plants in there. This area will also get all the equipment that needs a clean environment.

When I get the workshop set up, I'll post up some pics.

My scale model working space is in my garage. Its nice since i have full access to my bench, airtools, etc but i would love a dedicated room as i do other projects (automotive, wood working) and dust can be a problem.
