Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS!

Re: Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS

I fully intend to modify this device into an effective vacuum capable carbine,I shall hither to refer to my modified piece as the "Celestial Bison"
Here in Colorado Springs Science is experiencing a boom.An old Cavalry horse like me needs such a tool for exploration.Someone has to secure these academics in the field.

Hahahahaha. Love it! If you went with "Celestial Brahma" You could create a little more variance from the original, and also riff on one sense of the word celestial?

Re: Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS

I have questions for WETA will you make leather holsters for Rayguns and how will you keep from breaking bendy parts?
Have you ever thought about a Le Mat dress up kit like a Cosmo dragoon?

Brahma is so Vedic I wanted to go south west where Tesla worked...some time later.

I want one!!!!!

Then check out the final version of the Righteous Heatgun.:love

And keep in mind, this was just me using spare parts, no filling seams with putty or sanding or any of that stuff. Just slapped together and used as a paint dummy. Now she's been rubbed down with some real rust powder and sealed up proper.

And here is the Wooly Wisent drying and on her new stand. Still needs washes and more work but she's getting there.

EDIT: Made a WIP thread to cut down on my clutter. It's gonna get crazy when other folks start posting theirs. Here's the link http://www.therpf.com/f9/wooly-wise...-dr-grordbort-entry-wip-pic-intensive-118115/

Can't wait to see what you other guys are tinkering with!

Re: Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS

I love the heat gun. Some company should make a whole line of "fancy" tools, functional AND beautiful.

Re: Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS

Rats! I've got to go off on location for a movie shoot for most of the summer and will not have the time to build my entry. I hate it when my "day job" gets in the way of my hobbies! Well, not really, my day job pays for my hobbies!

Here are a couple of renderings of some of what I was going to build. Very unfinished concepts...

Re: Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS

I cant believe it that us u.k. lot still haven't got our bisons yet, and apparently they could still be another 7 to 10 days!!!

Im beginning to doubt i'll be able to get my design finished ( or even started! ;-) )

Re: Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS

Totally in the same boat, Minifig. What had looked like being a nice relaxed build is going to be quite rushed and stressful. I wish there was a way they could extend the deadline to accommodate those of us that haven't yet had our raw Bisons.

On top of everything, my bank is playing up and has declined the overseas payment twice, despite me going in and confirming it with them. Thankfully, Weta have been exceptionally understanding and pleasant to deal with while I sort it out. Just hoping it won't add even more delay.

Re: Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS

Knightjar I know the feeling my bank's playing silly buggers, I buy stuff from all over the world and all of a sudden a small charge in the antipodes (not a euphemism) and they're running around like headless chickens.

Re: Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS

It looks like a few of us are having the same problems with our banks. Funny thing is I bought a couple of the Dr Grordbort's books, with the same card that was declinded, a few months ago with no problem. But Weta were really helpful and we worked out another way to pay for mine. :)

I'm starting a 13 week placement next week so the only free time I'll have is at the weekend so I'm slightly worried I won't have enough time to do what I want as well. :confused

Re: Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS

I've bought from Weta in the past too with no problems. I think the difference is that payments went through their UK section. They are very friendly and helpful and are arranging alternative methods of payment.

Just to compare notes, my problem is with a NatWest Visa Debit card.

Re: Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS

ditto Knightjar
just got declined again

All I can say is hooray for the lovely people at Weta, and booooo for the supposedly helpful bank.

Re: Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS

IMPORTANT

We are going to extend the deadline for the competition to 30 August, in order to give more time to the people who are now getting their deliveries from the UK warehouse

Cheers
