I mean no offense to anyone else who has sculpted this character (including my own MULTIPLE attempts) - but this is, hands down, the best likeness so far.

Usually the more unique a face is, the easier the likeness. Because it doesnt have to be exact to look right. This character doesnt seem to follow this rule, and nailing this likeness proves incredibly difficult once you actually sit down and try.

Well done.

Wow....now that's a scary sight. :lol:thumbsup
Looks awesome Howard.:love
Oh and here's a thought...try screwing up your next sculpture/bust. I'd like to see how it feels to post in one of your threads without using the same positive adjectives that I have been over the last 8 years....just sayin...:cool

Thanks guys!

looking great Howard, I hope the finshed display pictures keep him in this leaning slightly forward pose as it sets him off very nicely

great to see you re-visit him, It was the same with your old Indiana sculpt they just got better every time :) and moving them into silicone is just a bonus when it comes to the finishing

looking forward to the new pics

Speaking of Indy... I'm also finishing another silicone bust right now along with Ledger ;)

That looks great, Can't wait to see the final pictures. Just out of curiosity how many sculpts do you normally have going on at the same time?

Usually a few... I have about 6 on the bench right now.

You are right, Ledger's likeness is way tough! he has very unique features that do not show up in photos well... it's almost like detective work seeing certain nuances in his features. I tried sculpting a crazier expression the first time around... but myself as well as the client decided that we could see him true to 'Ledger' while still trying to capture that creepy 'Joker' feel keeping his expression 'determined'. We noticed that as a portrait he looked much more menacing this way, along with the body pose ;)

Wow....now that's a scary sight. :lol:thumbsup

Trust me, I have scraped quit a few sculpts in my day... I'm never 100% happy. I guess that's good to keep trying to improve ;)

I'm just adding some final touches on this bust... he scared my wife... always a good thing :lol Photo shoot tomorrow...

Howard this is without a doubt the best fan made Heath as the Joker.
I thought that BobbyC´s version was impossible to recreate and do better, but I was sooooo wrong.
This is by far one of the greatest threads on this forum for years.
My hat goes off all day:thumbsup

Thanks guys!!

You know there are a handful of characters you really get into making and this is one for me... I have to say, I could watch him in that role over and over again and I think I like his performance better every time!

I'm also excited to say my client now wants a full Joker statue! I don't normally get commissioned to make statues, so this will be a blast all over again!!

Awesome Howard, it's got to be the best Joker bust out there and that is a strong statement as there are some awesome ones out there already. Top job !

I don't think that you could have done that piece any better as it looks the real Heath Ledger. :cheers

Your last sculpt was good but this one blows it away.
