WandaVision

So on the shot of the dvds that Wandas parents have you see Malcolm in the middle right? Didn’t that show come out in 2000? This seems to be a scene they would take place around 98 because they were born in 89 and are 9. No way that was on dvd in 98.
You're absolutely right, it was released in 2002, but I figured with them living in a third world country, it was probably all illegal bootlegs. Pop's business didn't really look to be officially sanctioned.

EDIT: Just saw that it wasn't even on TV until 2000, so, my point is moot. Carry on.

Yes! The RPF getting down to the real mystery of this show. An anachronistic DVD!

I’m also pretty sure most of those show dvd box sets weren’t around in 98. Really should have been a bunch of vhs tapes, I didn’t know anyone who had that many dvds in 98, much less a DVD player, and this is supposed to be a poor family in a Cold War torn country.

So, my personal take is they are going to end up telling us that Wanda was born with these powers, she just wasn’t ever fully aware of them. So, it’s Feige and Co. really subtly introducing the concept of mutants into the MCU.

I originally posted asking what everyone else thought, but then saw it’s already been discussed but I missed a bunch of posts.

I agree it was pretty deliberately unclear...did Wanda stop the bomb? Or was it just a dud?

Next week is the last episode, right?

I think they (the writers) are definitely trying to show that Wanda has had latent powers all along, but that her exposure to the mind stone took them to another level. They still aren't using the "M" word, but I feel that's definitely being implied.

So, are we thinking after seeing this that Wanda was born with “magic powers,” or is this a really subtle way of Feige saying “Wanda is a mutant, was born a mutant, and has always been a mutant...we just couldn’t say that until recently.”

The way it was shown, Agatha was providing some decent anecdotal evidence for Wanda having powers well before she was being experimented on, even if she wasn’t necessarily aware of them.

Or do we think they’re going to play it solely as some mysticism/magic that she possesses?

I think they are going with born with mutant powers , just unlocked or enhanced by the mind Stone.

Or (I’m sure someone has mentioned this before in this thread) now that she is using Chaos Magic/warping reality, do a twist on House of M and have her create/unlock mutant powers in people. Instead of ”No More Mutants” it Will be ”No, More Mutants”.

I think it was on Reddit but someone speculated that they could flip the House of M thing with a line from Wanda, like "let them be Mutants" in response to someone like Hayward calling powered individuals "freaks and mutants" and I would be cool with that.

I also haven't seen the episode yet

One thing I have been thinking about: why is visions corpse red when it’s at the sword Lab? He turned grey as he was killes by Thanos.

I don’t think we were seeing reality, we were seeing Wanda’s memory. Maybe she remembered MinM DVDs but they weren’t actually part of what her dad had at the time.
