WandaVision

The YouTube channel Film Theory has posited that Mephisto will NOT be the big bad of Phase 4, or even this series, based on one thing...

CHINA

Supernatural, ghosts, demons, etc, are a big no-no there. Being the 2nd largest film market by a lot, China has held a lot of sway in how MARVEL has chosen to present it's films in that country, going so far as to add 4 minutes to IRON MAN 3 featuring popular Chinese actors, & even showing Tony Stark specifically drinking milk during a time when there were fears of China's milk being tainted with mercury.

At the 2019 SDCC, Scott Derrikson, director of DOCTOR STRANGE & DOCTOR STRANGE 2, said on stage that DS2 would be closer to a straight up horror film than anything MARVEL had done before. Rumors began then that the villain would either be Mephisto or Nightmare. Then just a few months later, Derrikson left the project due to 'creative differences' & reportedly not having enough time to properly prep the film, but after the film being pushed back twice, he still didn't come back to the project & Sam Raimi was brought in to direct.

Going back to 2019, relations with the Chinese censors & worries about the box office were cited as the reasons MARVEL backed off of the original ideas. That being taken into consideration, I can see where Mephisto may be a road longer than MARVEL is willing to walk right now.
Film Theory,
This is from the same guy who said that Kool Aide Man is the most powerful being in the MCU.

I think it's Disney's way of slowly bringing Fox's X-men characters into their MCU universe subtly at first

Personally I think thats way too straight forward considering how this serie is going. Like, it could be that but it could also be something else at the same time.

Anyone placing bets on who Monica's aerospace engineer is? I'm guessing it's Reed Richards.

I can't see them introducing such a major character from the comics in this way. They've laid the groundwork for the FF for sure by mentioning CMBR, but I just think it'll be a bigger to-do.

I can. It's a nice low-stakes way of bringing them in and start erasing the bad taste left by the abysmal last movie adaptation.

Just watched it. I gotta admit I did NOT see that coming!! Between that and the last Mandalorian episode I don't know if my heart can take any more of these things!!!o_O

Elizabeth, I'm comin' to join ya, honey!!!!"

I keep seeing things online that people are suggesting Monica’s neural space scientist (whatever she actually said) is Reed Richards...but the first thing that popped into my head when she said that was Victor Avon Doom.

Also, I may be reading too much into this but did anyone noticed every commercial in Wandavision also references an Infinity Stone?

Hydra Soak- blue cube- Tesseract

Stuücker watch- Time Stone

Lagos- red sludge/liquid- Reality Stone

Stark toaster- Stark built machine that looks like a face with a “stone” in the middle of its face.- Mind Stone

Why would VVD be any more likely than Reed? Not snarking, legitimately curious here.

Two reasons really...

First, we’ve already had a couple things that seem to allude to the Fantastic Four, so I feel like her calling Reed seems like just a bit much.

Second, we haven’t had any real revelations about a villain for this series (or Phase Four in general) yet.

I don’t know...it was just the very first thing that popped into my head, and I was kinda surprised to see that it seems nobody else thought of that.

i just saw the latest episode and wow, im well into it now, and its answered lots of questions,
i knew something was up with vision, when the end credits focused in on his eye,
but i am a little confused as mentioned before, the scene on wandas breakin, correct me if im wrong, but its very contradictary
when they mentioned about visions will and the sokovian accords, and yet the director still openly shares the footage of the,
im guessing secret disacembly\reverse engineer of visions body, for their own purposes. if thats whats going on,
i still cant see where this is all going, and i cant wait until all the pieces get filled in. like how sword got hold of his body, and how wanda found out, i would have thought he might have stayed in wakanda, or went into storage at the avengers HQ,
i wonder if hydra is involved in the aquisition\handover somehow, and then wanda finds out, but then theres extra threads playing out in the background, some other puppet master maybe
i love how its all still quite unpredictable, still lots more thoeries flying around
ahh, its frustrating to have to wait a week,

This is great, i've gone from:

'i think this is going to on' to,
'ok, no that's not it, it's probably this', to
'no I was right the first time', to
'uh....maybe it's part of the first part, but with something else', to
'i've got no clue where it's going.....i'm giving up trying....and i'm fine with that, it's a been a helluva ride!'

Don't think anything's ever really done this for me before. Lost was close, but you never had a clue where that was going, and thankfully this is in much more capable hands.

Yup. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed that Darcy or Monica didn't point out the fact that Vision was IN PIECES in a LAB, but I'm hoping we'll get that confrontation in an episode or two. Maybe when he tries to stop Monica from having her aerospace engineer bring in this vehicle for her...
