Wand Company Fallout (tv series) Pip-Boy 3000 Mk V

Wow, look amazing. I got mine earlier in the week. The stock weathering wasn't the worst on mine, I've defiantly seen worse (looking at you Hasbro ghostbusters) I know you said it takes a few weeks to fully dry... after a few weeks do you seal it with a clear coat?

again looks amazing.

Got mine yesterday. First thing I did was strip the weathering with some rubbing alcohol (it even said in the instructions that you can do this. Just don't use acetone). Then went over with some black and brown oil paints and loving the results!

Great product overall and love how it's not as bulky as the other pip boy variants out there

Got mine in the mail. I have been very impressed with it. The wand company has heavily hinted they are going to try and add more features down the road. Sounds as if they might add more screen animations from season 2 when that comes out. So hyped to get a vault suit and wear this to conventions. Also I have heard a lot of people talking about how they cannot get it to fit on their wrist. The memory foam pads are removable. The actual prop did not have this foam cuff, the cuff was built into the vault suits. Anyhow with the foam removed it should fit far more bigger arms....just need to come up with your own sizing solution under the pipboy if you dont use the foam.

Kinda wild that the pipboy got here before the trap/pke im waiting on from hasbro... was not expecting that.

So happy I saw this! I took the bottom one out and now it fits. Might need to cut some foam to make the lower more comfortable though. Wish they provided foam for small, medium, and large fittings.

Overall I'm very impressed with how nice it is, and how well it smoothly functions. The idea of being able to update in the future is a fun idea. Wonder how long until someone hacks it with mods!

Another tip. It has a built-in FM radio. If you want to crank out some in-world radio a solution is a pocket Bluetooth to FM transmitters. I found one on Amazon, has a battery life of around 8 hours and it works. Just Bluetooth your phone to the transmitter then dial in the radio to its output and bingo bango bongo you have yourself all the songs from the games and show. The one I got is the Scoshe BTTRFM-SP1 portable bluetooth trasmitter, picked it up for like $15.

Received my shipping notice today. Guess I’m in the 2nd batch. LOL. I wasn’t expecting this till second half of the year at the earliest so finding that folks have already had it for a couple months is crazy! Pretty excited and nice to see the factory weathering is so easy to remove.
Been a big couple of months with the Haslab ghost trap, Marvel Green Goblin mask and pumpkin bomb and now this. Just waiting on the Factory entertainment TNG tricorder to complete my outstanding pre-orders.
I skipped the Wand Co TOS tricorder because I was always more of a TNG era fan but I’ve enjoyed the Wand Co Sonic screwdrivers and am expecting this to be a nice solid piece.

It's a very nice replica. Smaller than I expected, but as per usual Wand Company put a lot of effort and care into making something people would like. My only gripe is the speaker starts clipping at any of the louder volume settings, or at least mine does. I assume they all do, and maybe it's a feature given what these represent. Mine came over weathered too, but they seemed to want us to make them our own and I did some work to make it look better. I actually found I had a lot of fun tailoring it, and landed on something I was happy with. If you plan to work on the weathering but don't want to remove it all, I used a paper towel and just some water. Be careful on the die cast front plate as the weathering comes off real easy on that, but the plastic parts you can rub more and kind of blend things as you go.

Overall, well worth the price. Though other than the speaker, did anyone else find the usb cable yours came with fits very snug into the plug on both the pipboy and a usb port? Mine is so tight I feel like I'm going to break things using it.

I am going to put this into play right away. Going to stream from this.

I should be getting mine later this month - first job is to give it a proper hero prop weathering. I know the weathering it has out of the box is a tweakable starting point, and can be partially or totally removed, but I'm interested to know how polishable the die cast section is, has anyone tried that yet? The hero prop, whilst made out of resin, has quite a polished finish under all the weathering so my plan is to polish it first if that's possible. Its a shame half of it is ABS as it would've been nice to be able to polish it all up, but I should be able to emulate it enough with paint on that section so that it doesn't stand out too much.

Received this email today from IGN that the next wave is shipping February 25th. I assume other retailers should be getting them soon as well.

Mine arrived yesterday. Very nice piece. The weathering is really bad though, like visible brushstrokes bad. It's great that we can easily fix it ourselves, but it's such an odd failure on their part given how well put together the whole thing is. Ah well.

Has anyone come up with a wall display solution? I'm probably just going to slap together a basic 3d printed wall mount that holds the supplied stand but curious if anyone has come up with something better?

Got mine with the first batch. This thing is amazing. This is the pipboy the fans ever wanted. The weathering can be removed very easy. Will weather mine again when I have the time.

Pip-boy has arrived.. now sits in permanent demo mode on my desk. I've cleaned off a lot of the factory 'weathering', next up is doing some proper movie quality weathering.. only negative is that it doesn't have the metallic shine of the actual prop. Would've been nicer if they'd vacuum metallised it, maybe that would've driven the price up? I'd pay a bit more for that though.

Got my Pip-boy today, out of the Blue. I wasn't expecting it until May. As usual, in True Wand Fashion, the unboxing experience was top notch, the quality is evident in everything, including the outer shipping box, with Fallout packaging tape! I don't consider my self to be an overly big person, 6ft / 210 lbs, but this thing BARELY fits on my arm, I know they couldn't make it one size fits all, but I think there will be some disappointed people out there when they find out they can't put it on. I'm not really a huge Fallout fan, I liked the TV show and I played the Fallout 3 & 4 games and liked those, but I am a huge Wand Company Fan, mostly because of the wonderful job they did on the Star Trek Props. Those are some of the best props in my collection!!! I can't imagine life without them! I know absolutely nothing about this Pip-Boy, just what I gathered from skimming the instructions while its charging, but it has an FM Radio, Its an alarm clock and it has a flashlight, just to name a few of the functional features, but it has tons of stuff from the game that fans will love. It looks and feels extremely well made. I'll post some more once I get to play with it some more . Now I really can't wait for my Tricorder!!!

Got mine in today as well. I'm really happy with it. The weathering's not too bad on mine but I may clean it up in some areas. I'm a big guy at 6'0/ 250 lbs and it fits me, though it does take some squeezing to get it on. But once it's on, I find it comfortable enough.

I recommend updating the firmware. They added features like being able to control the radio from any screen and toggling the screen brightness with the flashlight button. One very minor thing I wish they would update is being able to turn off the geiger meter light or adjust the brightness of it independent from the screen brightness.

Got mine in as well, really lovely experience from unboxing to display. The weathering on mine is pretty good for what it is, but some of what others have done is pretty inspiring. No complaints at all, I'm really happy to have this!

I received mine the graphics are pretty cool. The base is heavy metal like the wand phaser and wand tricorder. The Pip boy color distressed wash is good but it looks and feels a little plasticity to me. The sound is good and the functions well done. This was a jab in the dark but I am glad I picked it up.
