Steve,

You mentioned earlier in this thread that you had dipped the resistors in tool dip. 1) Is this the rubber-in-a-can stuff? 2) Would it be possible to dip an entire circuit board to protect it in a kit with an aluminum base? Or would I run the risk of ruining something? Safer just to dip the resistors?

Ted there's no reason to tool dip them if your not going to submerge them in water as I often do with my submarines. Shrink tubing is best. I should have shown you that when you were here last.

I have used silicone caulk as well. It bonds, is waterproof (and fire-proof). I got the idea from reading a book about the Apollo 1 fire and to prevent short circuits they ended up putting silicone over everything. It works great!
 
Thanks Steve. We were pressed for time that day. My concern was something shorting out the board. It helps very much. Thanks.
