Vader Tour Suit.

Gino,

Your conduct on this board is at best bizarre, at worst disrespectful and offensive - gven your aggressive involvement in several threads over recent days, weeks and months I hope action is taken against you soon.

How on earth can my site be based on information from you when EVERYBODY here knows that the one thing that Gino doesnt do is share information :lol

I have no interest in getting into a pi$$ing fight so if you want to believe that you have a greater knowledge than me then you go ahead and carry on with the delusion. Much the same that you believe you have more knowledge on the Vader helmet than Brian Muir - the man who actually sculpted it!

However, one day when you finally get to handle an original helmet, maybe things will become a little clearer to you - until then keep analyzing those photographs!:love

To clear up this point. When a "major auction house" contacted me a few years back about some original helmets I went to 2 people, Art Andrews and Brandon Alinger (you can check if you want). We found out the information we needed and were also able to place 3 of the 4 actually in the movie. I did not go to you as I did not see you adding any real value. I am sure you and I have had many conversations (I have with many people on this board), but to suggest that I hold your view over others is frankly silly. However, like I said, if it makes you feel better then you can think what you wish.

I'm not sure why you're bringing AA into this discussion, he wasnt involved in the Vader (maybe you didnt know that). If you did then it suggsts you must be obsessed with him since he seems to be your comfort blanket.

BTW only my mother calls me "Jeremy". TE used to do it as well as he thought it wound me up. It doesn't. Unless you are my mother or TE please don't. Come to think of it you are starting to act a bit like TE :lol

Cheers

Jez

I share plenty, but everyone focuses on what isn't shared vs. what is.
In fact, if it weren't for me, you would still be saying that there were only 6 hdpe trooper helmets ever made and they were prototypes, and that the rest were ABS. Or maybe that AA utilized the original trooper molds for his new endeavor. Or that AA sculpted the original trooper items.
All of which you vehemently defended amongst other things.
I could go on and on for miles but I digress.

I have no interest in getting into a pi$$ing fight so if you want to believe that you have a greater knowledge than me then you go ahead and carry on with the delusion.

I have no interest in fighting just the same.
But after the post you just made, how can you possibly expect me to not respond?
Yes, I do believe my overall SW prop/costume knowledge is greater than yours. No contest.
You know what you know because of me, and people like me. But once that information is out there and put on your site, it appears that you believe that it is information that you discovered for yourself. The most unfortunate thing though is that for anyone viewing your site, that is what they will think.

You said the exact same thing to me in regards to AA.
So tell me, how did that work out for you?

To clear up this point. When a "major auction house" contacted me a few years back about some original helmets I went to 2 people, Art Andrews and Brandon Alinger (you can check if you want).

And you don't think that both Art and Brandon both consult with me on occasion as well (you can check if you want).

If you did then it suggsts you must be obsessed with him since he seems to be your comfort blanket.

How can you possibly say that of me, when you were the one who promoted his items and supported/defended him for years on this very forum?

As far as continuing this argument which I did not and do not want to participate in, say what you will as I'm not responding to you any further.

Gino, it was you who launched the preemptive strike by suggesting that I used you as my source for information when dealing with auction houses. This was untrue so I responded, so you responded, etc. However your post was clearly the first as can be seen in this thread.

Again you bring up AA. We're All tired of that, it was soooooo 2005 - yet for some reason you seem to want to keep bringing it up again - its you who has the problem. Get over it!

You said "You know what you know because of me". That is not just wrong its pathetic.

  • I know what I know because of the RPF, Prop Den, FISD, Original Prop Forum and various other SW forums - where information has been debated and discussed - using in an open and sharing environment
  • I know what I know because I've spent time talking to the people who made the star wars movies - and asking them about their experiences.
  • I know what I know because I've made some great friends in this hobby who have been prepared to discuss and share information
  • I know what I know because I've handled tens of original helmets, props and costuming parts. Ive had these opportunities because their owners value my opinion - I'm sorry if you're sad that they clearly don't value yours.
  • I know what I know because Ive made the effort to build a web site, spent years making it what it is. www.StarWarsHelmets is what it is DESPITE of you - not because of you.
Your view of this hobby is to amass as much information as possible - without fear of ever divulging it so you can fool yourself youre top dog. Seemingly then to milk it for what its worth with $1,000 Stormtrooper helmets. Remember what you wanted to do with the TIE's? You started a thread requesting info and then actual expected people to only give it to you so you could charge more for your product. Shame on you!

I am pleased you will not be responding to this. You have already said more than enough already. Both in this thread and on this forum.

Cheers

Jez
ps I just phoned Art and will phone Brandon if necessary. They did NOT give you the information on those original helmets before we announced our discovery. You have been caught out you liar!

And where did you get what you know from ? from your "secret sources" it's not like you had a magical moment of clarity and everything you know suddenly popped into your head from nowhere, it's an amalgamation of information told to you by others or information gleened from documented evidence in the form of text or images.
Do we ever see you acknowlede anyone publically for providing this information ? no of course not, yet another case of your do as i say not as i do attitude to life, just like you're happy to take someone elses photographs and plaster your watermark all over them like they're your property and at the same time admonish others because they don't credit you for every little thing.

Cantina Dudes rendering of a Vader belt sound familiar ?

Well i have the solution, Gino is the unquestioned lord and master of everything star wars, i'll even make him a little plaque for his mantelpiece, maybe then finally, every star wars thread won't be derailed by his pointless sniping and argueing.
Jez has supplied a lot of great info through his site, and i'm happy to say is willing to share information to those who ask.
Take a walk in the park, smell the flowers, look at your great collection, and stop being such an ass

The suit was a great bargain, hope its gone to a good home

I was not referring to that specific example.
I had edited it as soon as I realized that it could have been interpreted that way.

To clarify, that is not what I said. My quote was:
Funny you mention that because I can think of a couple instances where a big auction house asked jez, and jez in turn came to me for advice.

Which is absolutely true.
So you initiated the this spiraling exchange because you read more into it than what I actually said.

OMG MORE arguing!!!

People,

any and all posts that discuss anything else than the tour suit will be deleted and necessary actions will be taken against the posters.

The above also refers to posts that are made as attempts at humour, siding, justifying anything that was said by X and done by Y in the past etc. pp.

I recommend to tread lightly for the moment, be it old members or new members.

I don´t want to have to lock or remove another very interesting thread.

Thank you,
Michael

What score, what pictures? :rolleyes

no realy, back to actual topic guys!
i followed the auction also back then but i´m far from beeing an expert on Vader stuff so i didn´t expect it to be that valuable! Damn!

Yes, a necropost. As I was digging through some old boxes at my parents' place this Thanksgiving, I came across some photos that I took when I was taking photography classes in Jr. High and High school. This is a tour suit of some kind. Don't know if it is the same one as the one referenced in the original post, but I figured this was as good a place as any to post them.

The time frame of these photos is probably around 1982-ish. The Star Wars poster is a re-release poster, with a teaser for the "Revenge of the Jedi" trailer that was attached to the film. I think this was done for the release of "Star Wars".....on VHS no less. :lol

Sorry they are so crappy. I was 15. (Kinda surprised I found the negatives, really....)

And no, I don't know who the kids are in the last photo. They just got in the way......

Thanks for posting the photos. Where (city, country) did you take these photos back then? And/or could you nail it down to a time of year (fall, summer, etc).. Thanks again
