Vader Tour Suit.

^ Agreed...something that's tied to even the promotion of the original production(s) would have great value. Considering most quality fan made helmets alone go for more that what this whole costume sold for....helluva find! Cool piece of Vader history.

:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry

Don't kick your droid, send him across Tatooine to Sydney.. Know how you feel, but you were closer to getting it than I was..

He said old, not odd... hehe! I think we can all agree it's cool. I sure wouldn't mind owning an ANH tour suit, as that would be more a part of movie history than most fanmades.

..ahh, OK..this is the same suit that was shown on the Den and Jez's site not to long ago..with the "MP" helmet..I thought ANOTHER had surfaced!

:eek OMG. How much luck can one single man have? That suit for such a joke of a price......i'm feeling bad myself reading this story :wacko:sick

Did someone here win this then? As they know Jez and his site they must be aware of the RPF.

Joe

Whoever he is, I'm just glad to hear he's a collector and knows its significance. Just imagine if it had been bought by someone who just wanted a suit to wear on Halloween.

:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry Would love to know exactly what this would be worth to a high end collector though. Could you put a price on such a rare piece of movie history?? on second thoughts i dont want to know. I may need more therapy and i dont know if my r2 can take to many more kicks.

that freeborn yoda head would have been nice. Is the guy still your friend or is his body lying in a ditch waiting to be found?

:lol It was a head in bad condtion with only one ear. But I could have restored that perfectly and would have made a mould to make a new puppet from it...:cry I was outbidded with 2501 dollars, if I remember right. And...since this guy is one of my oldest friends, he still is. Otherwise...(n)lol:lol:lol

Ready to jump out and proclaim to the world... Disco Vader

Disco Vader?

As you wish. :lol

Funny you mention that because I can think of a couple instances where a big auction house asked jez, and jez in turn came to me for advice.
So your veiled attempt to discredit me is impotent.

.

Gino - I seem to remember that when I came across this specific Vader I went to the Prop Den to ask members of that forum their opinions.
You then contacted me telling me you were angry and disappointed that I had not come to you!

You have a good knowledge of original helmets and costuming parts, however in my view it is severly limited and compromised by the fact that you have no "hands-on" experience with original items - hence have relied too much on 3d party photographic data.

Please do not suggest that I rely on you for opinion and advice as this is not the case

Cheers

Jez

You did not come to me for help with this tour suit, but it would be dishonest for you to deny that you have come to me in the past for opinion/advice about suspect original items. Which if you re-read my post, you'll see that I implied no less than that.

It's no secret that ever since your promotion of and involvement with AA, that we have had a tumultuous relationship at best (people don't forget btw).

And if my knowledge of original helmets and costuming parts is severely limited as you say, then what does that say about your knowledge considering mine is significantly greater than yours, even with your hands-on? I'm certainly not saying I know everything, but no question more than you. Something to consider before the next time you attempt to publicly discredit me.

It's insulting to me that a significant portion of knowledge and information on your site (especially in regards to original vader and troopers) that comes directly from me, you have adopted as your own knowledge as if somehow you came up with it on your own.
Your website is more of a collection of knowledge from others who have helped you along, so much more than it is based on your own personal knowledge. Best for you not to forget that.
