V for Vendetta Dagger - WIP pics and questions...

I made some daggers from scratch and did a mold and cast some for me and others, just thought I would add my two cents, not trying to hi-jack.
I made a prototype from wood and sculpey, then I made a 2 sided "box" mold, I pour from the top where the nipple is on the handle end. I just cut off the pour spout and sand to finish it off.

I usually pour them with either Oynx fast or Smoothcast 320 dyed black.

I paint the white first, then clear seal and mask the handle area off before I finish with the silver.

Admittedly I made mine before all these metal ones came out, so there are differences, but I made mine a couple weeks after the movie came out for a costume I had at comic con. Does that help at all? I hope.

I tried casting my daggers with Onyx fast too in the beginning but my blades are longer and thinner than yours so Onyx fast was too fast for them, it either thickened before it filled out the mold or got all bubbly because I poured too quickly.
The six daggers you can see in my belt in my previous post were cast in Onyx Slow and they came out really neat.
I wanted to ask you what silicon you used for the mold. My OOMOO shrank considerably and caused a couple of leakages...

I used a platnium silicone called silputty LV from Silpak. Its like the mold star 16 fast. I also powder my molds, it breaks the surface tension of air bubbles and allows them to rise.

wondersquid your look pretty good too mate but I prefer the shape of ewigestuden ones

Thanks for the infos! I partially coated my mold with silver powder (so that I don't have to paint it later) and while I had a nice thick layer of it on the blade, it didn't seem to do anything to prevent bubbles...
Sorry, I should be more specific, baby powder or talcum powder. I wash it off with alcohol after I demold.

Oh, I see. In hindsight, I'd pick bubble-free daggers over the metallic shine. Oh well.
